Hi all,

Just bought a used Supra this weekend and thought I would introduce myself!

I drove an S2000 for around 10years and would often frequent their forum, but have been more sensible over the last couple years until now! (midlife crisis is now back in full swing!) I love everything about the new Supra and for me it feels like the first proper successor to the S2000.

My wife was unimpressed by my test drive where I accidentally had the rear end step out on me under acceleration! That definitely focused the mind! ?

I am thinking about maybe adding a small/subtle spoiler, but not sure what the good makes are? Also, are these glued on? (I don’t think I could bring myself to start drilling holes!) Also, is this something pretty easy to fit yourself or needs an expert to do it?

Welcome and congrats on the new car! As for the spoiler- a lot of folks go with a "duckbill" spoiler that fits on top of the existing rear factory trunk lip. Most are fastened using 3m adhesive automotive tape (or its equivalent). Lots of vendors but there are a couple of forum sponsors here who can provide some info. The install looks to be pretty easy - lots of youtube videos on the install. Good luck and post up some pics of the new ride!! :)

Welcome to the forum and Supra ownership!

3M tape is pretty good, I don't have a spoiler, but I have it holding on the rear louvres and it's held up ok so far. I'm careful washing around it, especially with a power washer.

Welcome. Hope you are enjoying the Supra.
They do look good with the small ducktail spoilers. You could check out Whifbitz website for some ideas.

Enjoy the new car, post some pictures. Is it red by any chance? With a plate mounted to the tow hook?

I miss greatly my S2000, if I could buy one car back....

Cheers for the info on spoilers and kind welcome everyone!

I am thinking down the lines of you get what you pay for and seeing as this is an expensive car, I would spend some decent £ on a spoiler.. I guess it’s just a matter of knowing who the quality makers are (by digging around the lots of posts here!) and go from there. One thing I did notice with a US based maker is the outrages delivery cos. I think one worked out at at least £500 just for delivery charges!

@ SCZ4 I feel the same, if at the time I had somewhere I could have kept my S2000, I would never have sold it.. and I realise now it would have also been a great investment! ?

I am actually picking the car up lunchtime tomorrow so will try to get a pic of it to post!

Oh, and it is a silver one where I would not have considered the colour as I kinda felt silver = dated in todays greys/white world, but having seen it in flesh, it does really suit the cars shape IMHO. ?

Still not taken any pics! And now the car needs a wash first! ?

One question, can the adaptive cruise control link to the satnav and adjust your speed accordingly?

I have also found when driving on narrow single lane country roads I am getting the odd times where the steering started correcting itself as if it thinks the car is drifting out of the lane markers which was a bit freaky as I have not owned a car with this feature before and felt like it was trying to take me into the verge. I did go into the settings and turn it to the low vibration setting which has made it a lot better, but was just wondering if you guys have all experienced this sort of thing and have all just tuned it off altogether? (it’s also a bit off putting when you are going around a parked car across lane markings and the car is telling you off for not indicating!)

Welcome. I also came from an s2000. I had a pristine 2003 with 30k when I sold it. Had it for just shy of 4 years overall great car I feel the Supra is just a modern version of it with more power and tech. Minus the convertible part.

O.M.G.I had the same exact issue driving my 2023 MT back from the dealer and it was scary AF as I also never had a car with this before. Yes thank goodness you can turn it off permanently and apply it to your driver profile so the car remembers and you don't have to do it again every time you start the car. Just be aware once you turn the lane assist off you get a small orange light on one of the buttons in the center console which is annoying as to me it looks like a fault light, but all it means is that it reports it orange in terms of 'risk' as you have disabled some of safety systems but it's fine, the irony is, I never felt MORE UNsafe than when the steering wheel was pushing against my will whilst overtaking at 70 miles an hour, sooo yeah.

Glad to see I am not the only person thinking the car is trying to kill me! ?

It was the narrow country lane that really got me where 1) there were no road markings for it to lock onto and 2) It was friggin narrow (with a hedge a couple feet either side) going into a bend where Mr AI decided it wanted to mate with the hedge.

But, I do find having it on the low setting makes it ok to the point you don’t really notice it. God knows what it must be like on the high setting! Maybe that includes the AI issuing you with a ticket and driving you to the nearest police station. ?

Still haven’t had time to wash car for a pic.. (actually it’s too cold and I’m a wuss) I think I’ll wait till I get my hyper-realistic Lego model in the post to get a pic of the 2 together! ?

Just turn it off. Heaven help you if you fail to use your blinker while changing lanes.
I like driving the car , not the car driving me. Stupid feature IMHO.

I am planning to get a couple carbon fibre bits from @Jesse DaBears at 1FastSupra, and am sure I will buy more bits in the future assuming getting stuff from US to UK works out well.

This got me thinking that if a few of us UK owners were wanting stuff then maybe we could somehow club together to get some extra discount. (especially on the delivery costs)

Just an idea!

If you ever need stuff to the UK I can ship there and do frequently!
