I just purchased a hood and bumper set for mine. They look so much better! I hear people commonly say they would buy them but don't want to get water into that area. Well, there is no seal on the OEM fake vents. They just snap into place. So, you are getting water in that area anyway the OEM closed off vents get water past them. If you don't believe me spray the vents with water, then dry them off, then pop the vent out and take a look at the water in the opening.

I haven't popped my hood vents out yet to see what's behind there... is it just a fender lining or is there a way for water to get right into the engine bay? It rains a lot here and I don't like too much water getting into the engine bay thru open vents.

Can you make the bumper vents look similar to the fender vents with the border trim and recessed back a little bit more? that would also take care of the problem of the color cars showing through and you having to make the frame thickness bigger, it’s still kind of looks off because you’ve overextended the honeycomb past the framing part that covers the paint behind it, if they looked more like the hood vents with a solid border and then the honeycomb recess’s back a little; I feel like that would look superior!
