The satin black versions of the two-tones are the best IMHO, but I might be biased...

I actually prefer the early wheels to for only one reason. Mine is the matte storm gray paint so I feel like those black wheels that come on the 23+ just wouldn't look good with the car color IMO.

Your color combos look great and I do prefer the newer wheels on all other colors

I'm torn between NB and AZ. One thing I've been curious about is how hard AZ is as a color to paint match. For example, doing EVS fenders or even just touching up rock chips. Are touchup spots going to very noticeable? If doing fenders, is a painted fender piece going to "blend" well with the surrounding parts without actually having to paint-blend the surrounding panels?

Sooo… After 3 years of debating and justifying to myself I finally decided to order the TRD Carbon Fiber door garnish for my A91-CF. I considered some of the other brands but after seeing the reviews of the 3rd party brands you get what you pay for and the TRD fit and finish is unrivaled by any other brand available out there. I had considered eventually adding these even prior to purchasing the car in March of 2022. 3 years in and after deciding if I think they will look good or not I’ve finally committed to doing it. It’s been the price (is it worth it to me), it’s the look (will it look nice on my AZW A91-CF) & (definitely happy to finally delete the plastic black piece in the door). I think if these were readily available in the U.S. for people to see in person, and if the MSRP wasn’t 5-10% of a Supra’s MSRP we’d probably see more of them on existing Supras (but that’s part of the charm is exclusivity also)-but I’m looking forward to seeing them installed on my AZW and I’ll put up some pics, thoughts, and impressions once received and installed.

I’m interested in what others with the AZW thoughts are on the garnish, especially those that have an A91-CF with a carbon body kit already on the car, everyone please chime in.

There are many options out there for much less. As little as a couple hundred all the way to the TRD. I’m just very OCD and reviews of the other ones on YT etc all said they are good but if you’re a perfectionist then they aren’t for you. I know some of the cheaper ones have some fitment issues to work thru as well. The TRD kit also comes with rubber pieces to plug the excess clip holes in the door to prevent water from standing inside and rusting your door behind the garnish where none of the others address that.

Mine are the OLM. They were about $600 I think. They fit pretty well but they install over the factory door piece so they poke out some. They mount with pre applied 3M tape so install was easy. Personally I prefer the smooth look over the ones with the wings on them.

I would say the TRDs are much higher quality than the ones I have though.

ADRO is coming out with some I think. Might be worth checking into.

That’s interesting that the OLM are overlays. I like the smooth look as well but that doesn’t eliminate the black plastic strip so I went with the TRD it’s definitely a personal choice on these any way you go.

ADRO already has preorders open for their door garnish kit. Unfortunately they also don’t eliminate the need to use the black plastic piece but they are direct replacements vs overlays and do look like they have a high quality finish for anyone who may be interested as well.

Install took around 45 mins per door. The TRD kit includes all new clips, bolts, spare clip hole covers, all 3M pre applied, and top notch fit and finish. It matches the A91-CF body kit carbon quality and finish.

One of the big takeaways I have are that the lines in the garnish do not “bulge” outwards like it appears they do in the limited pics available online and many of the aftermarket kits appear to. The TRD kit follows the body lines and the lines swell to fit the rear quarter panels. The fit and look is better than I expected in person and I’m extremely happy I took the risk and installed them on the car after being 51% sold to make the purchase.

You can clearly see a top down look (above) the door garnish eliminates the mostly disliked and regarded “fake vent” and doesn’t puff out or bulge it follows and flows with the cars body lines perfectly.

if you can swallow the price tag on a set, I highly recommend them. I had reservations with the flow on the car prior to seeing it in person and afterwards know you’re paying for the quality, fit and finish. If you’re a perfectionist or someone who’s hard to please this is the only set to consider. Although a paint match set-up someone may consider a cheaper alternative of the TRD design with a paint match wrap on the official TRD ones to not damage the finish if you prefer a paint match alternative to eliminate the black plastic canard/fakevent in the doors.

I’ll get some good pictures of the car further away and from different angles once the weather finally cooperates as it’s been extremely cold and snowy here the past few weeks. Much out of the norm this time of year.

I hope several of you that messaged or had some of the same reservations or questions I had, now have more info to make a more informed decision on your potential purchase.

If you’re considering or interested in a set feel free to DM me for help on pricing etc. I’ve sold items to hundreds of forum members here.

The most impressive part of the TRD set is the carbon is an exact match for the A91-CF weave and even runs the same direction on both side of the car just like an OEM piece. Well technically it is its JDM but amazingly it is a dead on match for the A91-CF owners and anyone else looking for top notch quality. If I had any other trim I’d definitely have picked up the TRD carbon body kit and duck bill (that was my original plan until the CF was announced) then I would have added these as we’ll eventually like I just did. I feel it’s important to share this info for those here as I know I wasn’t the only one wondering why they were so expensive compared to aftermarket options. I’m so glad I took the plunge and didn’t go another route. Too bad they didn’t offer these in other regions it would have potentially made them less expensive they look amazing in person.
