Hey NC Supra fam,

Considering a move to the greater Charlotte area and wanted to ask if anyone dailies their Supra there, or how practical it would be. Mostly thinking about the colder months, if possible I would like to avoid having to swap tires or running all-seasons. I would hope to be able to continue using Michelin PS4S / PS S5.
I daily mine. Put 15k on the stock Super Sports over 2 years and just switched to DWS06. The SS are pretty awful in the cold and wet but I still managed fine. Just have to drive carefully in bad conditions. I do like having the all season on there now. I’ll see how they do in the summer and see if I miss a dedicated summer tire.

Honestly, i think most supra owners in NC (maybe minus the mountains) are running summer tires year round. I'm not sure how many people daily the car, i'd say quite a few or the majority however, i'm not one of them. I think as most have already mentioned, you'll be fine on a summer only tire as long as you're reasonable about how you drive those days. I drive mine on the weekends even if it's 30-40 degrees here and it's fine, the tires aren't happy but it's manageable (i'm on 200TW). I the best all around summer tires for this car if you're on stock tires are the PS4's and the Conti ECS 02's. Given the price of the Conti's, they are about impossible to beat for $ vs. life vs. grip/performance for a 300+ TW tire. Just my 2 cents.

I'll be interested to hear how you like these, as that's what I'm thinking about getting once my stock tires are worn. Post an update once it's warm out, if you can.

Anybody familiar with this Supra? Currently for sale at a dealer, trying to do some DD on it. Thanks!

Never seen it locally and i've been to a lot of events, not saying it hasn't been here the whole time but i have never recalled seeing that one w/ the wheels, i would have remembered, that thing is sitting pretty.

Thanks for the feedback. Appears to have been a Rock Hill / Ft. Mill area car. It’s been serviced at a couple shops in SE Charlotte. It looks great for sure. On the mechanical
side I’ve heard mixed stories but nothing definitive. Dealer claims their cars won’t go offsite for PPI. ??‍♂

In any event, I’m in the market for a MkV so let me know if you have one for sale or know somebody that does.

We have a group of about 10 soups heading out here. Planning on getting there at 10 am. Dyno runs are first come, first serve if you're interested. Come join us out there!

I'll be at the Charlotte Motor Speedway for a work conference that day but I'll be in the CLT area starting Thurs. Look for a Mikan Blast driving around!

Michael here, located in the beautiful town of Cary, NC, located in the general RTP area. Unfortunately, we have been inundated with pollen this year, so I don't actually know what color my car is today. It was originally white. 6-speed manual, natch. I had to travel to Dayton OH this past December to get it, since no dealers around here had any cars and few dealers that have a car were willing to negotiate.

It is stock and will remain stock except for track pads. The car occasionally travels to VIR, where the last time I was there with a club out of Maryland, there were several other Supras in attendance. One was in my run group, and obviously modified quite well, as he (she?) disappeared once she (he?) passed me. LOL

But I'm OK with that. No ego on the track keeps me out of trouble.

In raleigh for the week + weekend. Whats a fella gotta do to find a car meet around here, or car parts? i have an empty hatch and looking to fill it with goodies.
@raleigh.car.events on Instagram posts weekly with all the meets going on in the area. As far as parts, good ole Facebook marketplace is your best bet
