Hey everyone. Kinda tearing my hair out thinking about the car but something happened as I was driving it through Berkeley this afternoon.
As I was going down a steep incline, the CEL came on and I drove it to a local shop who pulled this code and another one for the dash heater control sensor.
The mechanic said it might have been caused by a faulty seal and moisture could get inside and fry the sensor which could have also damaged the ECU. But I’m not too sure.
See, this Supra to me has always seemed frankly very fast for a stock Supra. Yes it’s a 2020 Launch Edition, but another Nor Cal member was thinking maybe the previous owner did an ECU flash back to stock and threw all the parts back on before selling it?
This car was sold as a certified pre owned, but it’s had that issue in the past with the EVAP system needing both purge valves and the charcoal canister replaced. But with only 6000 miles on the car when I bought it?
So far the car has been absolutely incredible since they fixed the first issue which confuses me even more. Wouldn’t a bad ECU flash make the car drive shitty?
I’ve put around 4600 miles on the car since the last issue was fixed, but I will say this. I do live by the ocean. And it was damp and rainy today in Berkeley.
The car is now in Service with Toyota. The Supra tech did pull the same codes, and he’s never seen this issue before. So they’ll be calling Toyota for more information and will get back to me.
Thanks for any help or suggestions guys. Really concerned about my car.
