So since the beginning when the MKV was getting ready to market, and all the BMW bashing, I was always curious to know how many BMW enthusiasts have jumped ship and come to the "Supra" version over the BMW version. Obviously I assume the large share of owners have been past Supra owners. Then some who never owned a Supra nor a BMW. Be interesting to see the ownership "Demographics"

I haven't read here (and probably a reason) of anyone coming over here to post there reviews of the BMW version.

Purists on both sides.

"It's not a Toyota!"
"It's not a BMW!"

It's a great sportscar. Period.

Halle Berry is mixed, so is The Rock. Don't see anyone complaining about that :dunno:

I had a 2007 E90 335i, 2014 F30 328i and a 2018 F87 M2 dct before I got my Supra. The A90 Supra reminds me a lot of my past BMWs, but the car also has some Japanese touches to it. Especially the lightness in feel and playful chassis setup. In comparison my M2 felt stiffer and more hardcore, but wasn’t as fun when driven hard. I also felt that the thick M steering wheel also robbed some of the road feedbacks away.

Previous owner of F80 M3 6MT, E92 M3 6MT, E92 335i 6AT, E88 135i 7AT, and I have extensive experience driving F22 M240i's, E46 M3s, F87 M2s and some other BMWs. I have to say, the car this one drives the most like (IMO) is the E46 M3. I like that it feels light on its toes and more playful than modern BMWs which I really like.

I've had an E36 M3, 2012 135i, and now an F97 X3Mc. The Supra has gotten my attention like no previous Japanese sports car has. I'll get a chance to drive one (2021) soon; I hope. The collaboration may have gotten the best of both worlds. We'll see.

Agreed on the E46 M3 part. Past cars were the E36 M3, E39 M5 and spent a good bit of time with the E46 M3. I saw the BMW collaboration as a plus to the car when I learned about it.

I wanted a car that looked good, drove well, and wasn't terribly expensive.
So I ended up getting this one.

I've had numerous BMW's but they have been 7 series and X5's so I can't really claim to be jumping ship.
The BMW dealership near me used to let us get a little more aggressive in the test drives.

I'm not sure what happened with our relationship but they seem to be a little less receptive to performance drives as they used to.

You can see the BMW dealership over the freeway from where I park my car.

If they would have had the comparable car at a price close to the Supra I would have bought it. I do like the BMW influence in the Supra. I had a '93 RX7 and a '91 Mitsubishi 3000 VR4. I enjoyed both of them. I do enjoy the prodigious torque and fast-changing transmission on the Supra.

First time ever that European car guys switching over to a Toyota...... lol
I switched over from bmw. But it was also because I knew what the engine could do before even driving it. Always wanted a supra/90s jdm. Just can't justify the current market value.
