Thanks all. I’ve been lurking around the forum and searching forever. I really wanted a premium but I’m in it for the performance anyhow. I was able to get this guy to sell this base for 50k flat, he will be using the money on his other cars I guess. He has ab mk4 and an evolution.

I’d like to find out about powder coating the wheels and what it’ll cost, In reality id love a bronze wheel but at the current time I’ve broke my bank so I will have to wait. Can’t afford the 4K price tag on most of the wheels I see for sale, I’d rather spend like 1500 lol. Maybe I can powder coat the stock wheels bronze.
Lots of people here have powder coated their stock wheels. It should not set you back $1500–more like half to 2/3rds of that. There’s a big thread on it in the wheels section.

How do you think I did on price? 50k for a base with 7.5k miles, HKS exhaust and intake and the wrap?

Is it true could I get Toyota to update my car infotainment so that I could have apple car play or is that not the case?

Thanks

Nobody probably cares but I’ve had a Supra for 1 day and I have to say… this car is the funnest I’ve driven in my life! I’m 28 and have driven a few different American muscles and my tuned Subaru, but this thing takes the cake! In 1 single day I’ve had about 3 “is that a Supra” comments yelled to me with my window down, and a couple of good races. In my area, Supras are almost non existent or extremely rare that might play a part in it. Stock power on the car is unreal.. I can’t wait till I start tuning it. Keeping the wheels from spinning is gonna be a challenge! Power sliding turns, shit I’ve probably burned half the rubber off these stock tires! This car is a true machine and so awesome, extremely happy with my purchase. Can’t wait to keep reading more and get prepped for some tuning! It’ll be a completely new platform for me (ecutek) coming from Cobb so I might need some help!

Whether you care about the above post or not, glad to join the crew here.

edit: not sure What the stock tires are but I have advan apex 255/35/R19s in front and 275/35/R19s in the back.. thoughts?

We care that you're enjoying the new ride! These things are monsters, even in factory form. A lot of folks seem to forget that quickly and go mod crazy right out of the gate. The back end tends to get squirrely with VSC off, so be careful until you get a little more familiar with the torque.

Tires are ok, but I'd definitely recommend you get something that's aligned with your goals. People like the Michelin PS4Ss for everyday driving. I use R888Rs (285/35/19, 265/35/19) for street tires and MT E Street Rs (305/45/17) for drag. Nitto NT555RII/GII are good as well- again, depends on what you're using the car for.

Let us know what sort of questions you have about tuning. Welcome again!

I put PS4S on my new wheels and love it. With my JB4 tune I could spin flooring it at 30mph, now it just LAUNCHES.
Either way the machine is great, and have a ton of fun but don't be dumb hahaha

What driving modes do most people use? I’m a little confused on them. I will have to take a look at the manual. Do most people leave traction control on when you drive in sport or do you press it once? I don’t think I’ve driven with VSC off unless that’s what the traction control button does? I usually get in and hit sport mode, and than traction control. Not sure if that’s the full VSC your referring to? I also press and hold the safety feature button, I think that just disables lane assist I believe?

Disabling VSC is tapping the traction button once, then tapping and holding for 2 seconds. Completely disables Vehicle Stability Control. You're on your own, and have to pretend to know how to actually drive a RWD car.

Sport usually. Sport and No VSC for the strip.
When you go into sport mode do you also hit the traction control button once or would would you recommend keeping that on all the way?

If I'm just driving around, I don't mess with traction at all.

I will be street driving only, no tracking the car for me. That said, I’d like to know which systems to have on and which to have off when the stupid 5.0 mustang shows up next to me at the stop light ??

The car. That’s all you’ll need to have on when one of those roll up next to you. And keep the backend clean so they have something nice to look at.
