Question for VA owners

Relocating to Northern VA for work in a couple months. Reading about vehicle property taxes, sounds like a prepare your anus scenario lol.
Anyone care to share what they pay? I’m not seeing a good way to guess what they will assess my Supra value at, or if you know where I can find the assessed value for VA?
I have a 21 for reference.

Also recommendations for cool drives in the area I can take it on?

Vehicle property tax rates are set by the county; if you look up their webpage, it’ll be documented.

I don’t remember offhand how my county determines the value, but I think it’s based on NADA.

Time to register it to a questionably legitimate LLC in Wyoming... vehicle taxes are that outrageous there??

Prince William is Northern Virginia, there are other jurisdictions with lower rates.

yeah I had googled, I just didn’t believe they would base it off of used car value, and also didn’t know what condition you’d base it off of to get the value.

mostly interested in what people are paying if they want to share.

It’s gonna be what it’s gonna be, just trying to prepare.

It‘s an average book value; condition and actual mileage aren’t a factor (at least not in any county that I’m aware of).

If you can find someone in the same county with the same model year that should be a good estimate. Otherwise it’s just doing the math between the county rate and average book.

LOL.... that's a common enough tactic that the county has a way to report your neighbors who tag out of jurisdiction and thus don't pay the tax;

My tax is only ~$100 lower than it was when new in ‘22. The ONE time I wish the value would go down!
