Michael Toyota in Fresno, CA currently has a 2022 Supra 2.0 on their website for
$57,490. I checked 3 times to make sure it wasn’t actually a 3.0. That’s just horrible! I hope no one buys it? They have the window sticker posted, but not a supplemental sticker for the mark up.

They must be the only Toyota dealer in that area for such an insulting markup for the least desirable MKV.

Supply and demand. We are witnessing an anomaly on the auto industry. Also, those sales reps are adopting Gross as opposed to Volume commission. Most are getting screwed over though.

Most of the time when you see someone get a deal like this on a car it's because that dealer either has an abundance of inventory or they know new year models are coming and need to make room for inventory. Also having a hefty down payment or trade equity helps a ton.

Carvana offered $14,100 for my 2013 Prius.

peak covid time, 31st of december, last day of the year, Middle of nowhere north dakota, 25 inches of snow at the time or something crazy like that, sat at the dealer for about a year. And of of course shrewd negotiating, it was actually 1k less. I put a CC deposit, and when it arrived the car needed a new battery and service, plus they forgot the window sticker and didn't PDI the car( no nav), they said they would pay me back and to get it done at the local dealer, had it all done, paid and sent them invoice, they went ghost and it's been almost 7 months since we last spoke, no one answered etc etc, charged back my CC deposit, they never called or asked so guess it was 46.5k. All in all with tax's and shipping it was around 50k

I was looking to buy a new one in Northern Virginia. MSRP for 3.0 was $54,500. Called the dealer and asked what he wanted .... without missing a step he told me $66,900. When I
replied that was a pretty steep upcharge, he said it will be that way for another year at least.

Needless to say, I got a 2020 used (2200 miles) from Carmax for what I believe was a fair price. But yeah.... the new prices here are TOTALLY insane.
