Wow i didnt expect that. I have a manual and that car sounds stock too. I don't know how in the world it would have a gearing advantage over the auto when the auto has two more gears but maybe that's it? I'm sure someone will have objective information on that. It does seem to pull like crazy in third and fourth when compared to 1st and 2nd but maybe my butt dyno is off. I also haven't gone past 4000 rpm due to break in so I have no idea.
Didn't expect that too. You nailed it. 👍But you can't know who uploaded the video and if everything is really stock.
Only thing i could imagine would be maybe lower power losses of the manual gearbox. But that should add only 5 or 10 hp if they're existent.

The car is only shifting once from a roll, maybe the loss difference is enough to cover the gap if it’s a quick shift.

I watched a video of a stock MT vs a stock 2020, and the MT barely walked or stayed with the MT so, yeah these numbers seem optimistic for a stock MT. I've driven the MT and its soooooo slow lol, but that's coming from a e50 tuned with all the basic bolt ons so of course it feels slow to that. i personally wouldn't trade my auto in for one, but I get why people want them.

got the link to the vid? :)
i ask because depending if in the USA or not, this would mean a stock 335hp MT vs a stock 2020 335hp AT, or 382hp MT vs 335hp AT

these comments are not toward you, but about the video:

  1. 2020 is running a catless downpipe. evidence in comments and sound of his car, therefore
  2. stock 2023 MT (382hp) vs [catted DP, no tune] 2020 AT (>332hp)
  3. ... they race weird. 2020 is also letting that thing rev passed 6500 rpms

I was just going off the 3:14 minute comment of him saying both cars are stock, i left a comment to him in his video about shifting at 6k is better lol

2021 3.0 Auto here.
Stock 60-130s, multiple runs. Average: 12.1
MHD Tuned Stage 2 93 Octane, multiple runs. Average: 10.5
MHD Custom Tuned E40, multiple runs. Average 8.3, best is 8.1 in good weather.

15 seconds sounds fucked. Something sounds off for sure.

Has anyone here done a 60-130 run in a stock a90 (2020 model year). Mine is completely stock and ran a 15-second 60-130 which just seems really slow (84°F and level road). Just wondering what anyone else has gotten.
I very quickly skimmed over this thread, but if no one else said anything about it, there's a technique to getting the best 60-130 time and it varies depending on the vehicle.

For the Supra
1. Traction needs to be in sport traction bare minimum for better results.
2. Put the car in manual mode and shift around 6,100 RPM's
3. Start the run at a lower speed such as 35-40mph. There are multiple reasons for this, but the main reason is for traction/boost. By the time you hit 60mph hopefully you should be full steam ahead and having no traction issues and boost should be fully built, also, momentum and such.

Idk whats so "LOL" about it, im in the high 7's 60-130 and running 10's, the mt was freight trained by my car, it is slow stock.... period
I just like that you had to point out the "MT" as slow stock. I mean by your logic you could say the same about the AT being slow stock compared to your super fast car.

Oh I see I touched a button on you slow car. Mine is not super fast I never claimed it was. I was responding to the video that shows a MT running. Yeah a stock Auto is pretty slow too. My car is pretty slow to anyone that has a big turbo. It’s ok. There is always someone out there faster.

Yes. If you were heat soaked, had a bad DA, have extra weight in the car, etc. - all of these will push you into the 15s for 60-130 stock. See my stock 2020 times here:

14 flat was the best I could get. It's a 2020 - tune it and send it. You won't regret it.
