For my own reference, I made sound clips of the sound of my Supra before and after adding a high flow catted downpipe. I know some people are wondering how much just a catted downpipe changes the sound of the car whether it's to help them determine if a full exhaust is worth it or to see if just the downpipe will annoy the neighbors.
I figured this comparison may help.
I had the microphone mounted to the rear bumper of the car. I did get some audio clipping due to the volume of both, but this should give anyone a really good idea of what just a downpipe does in terms of sound (especially from outside the car).
Stock downpipe is on stock tune. CG Precision DS-1 Catted Downpipe is on a Visconti Stage 2 93 Octane OTS tune. I mention this because I noticed in the ecutek app that the sport mode burbles are slightly turned up on the OTS tune.
Startup 0:00
Moderate Throttle 1:20
Switch from Drive to Sport 2:03
WOT 3:06
Sport Mode (varying RPMs) 4:15
Low Speed Turbo Noises (CG Precision DS-1 Catted downpipe only) 6:39
Mic mounting for reference:
