Hey Davo! I've done many track days at Sebring but I'm getting tired of just doing lap times at track days.

I'm trying to start on NASA and FARA TT and have been reading a lot about rules. I just bought an MCS 2 way remote suspension, a few alignment arms, front swaybar, and I'm going to ditch the 300TW tires to go on 200 TW 18" square on 295's (no aero yet lol, too much money spent last month). I know about the power calculations on NASA and it seems that I would have to run the supra on stock power. It seems like these mods are more for TT3 right? No way I'd be able to run TT4 with them. Just wondering.
Hey man! Love hearing that you want to jump up and starting doing TT. Ya, zero possible way to fit that Supra in TT4 (the 3.0 model at least) if you want to DM me to chat about it I'd be happy to help!

Side note, FARA rules are hot, hot garbage. I know that'll rub some people the wrong way but its true. FARA is for street cars trying to track. While NASA favors a class system for racecars.

Hey Davo! Lol ok so it’s not me then! Man I played with FARA’s point system for a bit and literally doing a few things puts me in ultimate… Lol even without aero and stock turbo. Basically suspension and tires -> unlimited…

will dm you!

Youre telling me brother. My 240hp car, with R7s on it is classed along with 400 to 500hp cars on super 200s. Ya, okay ?

I can honestly say you can make it into SL2 but just barely. I made it into SL2 (by one point) using 200tw tires. They actually helped me get in there/ figure it out. I have a stock engine which helps. The SL1 category is a big jump up and I might as well unlock my car & add aero, if I did that. It was fun to run in and a great bunch of peeps. Homestead isn’t my track by any means. I rarely go there and had more fun than I can remember with them.

David is right however. It’s a stock class for those who don’t want to do TT, full cage, etc. Idea is you could drive to the track and do some time trials in your streetable track car. But the guys are really good and I never looked at a rule book, lol. I just talked to Carlos who runs it. He reaches out to you when you sign up (not pay). He (and others) helps you make the calculations to get in there. Which you may not be at the SL2 class/level. I definitely can clean up my schlop and do better. But for SL1, that would be hard. Those times are really really fast!! Most of those guys run TT with NASA & FARA as well.

Got it! I guess I went down the rabbit hole with the suspension and 295 200tw square tires ???

Ill put this as nicely as possible. I know Carlos, too well. After he basically got run out of NASA TT4 for cheating he decided to create a time trial series that makes his car OP. So I'm glad you guys have to deal with him now. But we'd love more of you guys to come over to NASA though!

If anyone brings this post up to him of course he will vehemently deny it and probably say something horrible about me. So there's that ?

Extra side note. Don't believe all the "championships" he's won.

Okay rant over. Back to the OP!

Pinky promise I won’t tell. He’s never told me he’s won a lot of championships. Only that he went out his way to find me at a NASA event long ago and called me his nemesis from my Catalyst times. I liked him ever after that ?. I don’t blame you and sorry to hear he left there on a bad note. He must have learned from that experience & explains why he helped start a series where you can modify your streetable car.

Regardless, he’s been good to me. He’s also has others running that thing - FARA Academy and SLS. So that likely helps keep him from winning everything and/or cheating ?‍♂. He’s playing by the own rules he and others put together. However, if I was seriously competing, I get it. Rules are rules and he should go by them, which he does now.

NASA is awesome too in our region. I’ve never run in TT with them. Only HPDE and really like how Jim V. runs it. He’s been to many FARA Acadamy & SLS events. We each make a point to say hi to one another. So he doesn't appear to have any hard feelings. Which says more for his character ✊?, I suppose. I only wish they had more track days at Sebring in the cooler months. Chin is great too, but expensive ? and no time trials for the more serious crowd, like y’all.

So I can only speak of my experience in FARA SLS and Academy which my wife also drives. Everyone has been great to us. And from what I’ve seen, they go out of their way to make sure everyone is having fun, safe, and learn along the way. Prices are good too!
