Hi everyone, just got my supra around a month ago.

Today I removed the Active Sound, the fake enginge sound that comes from the speakers, I did lose a lot of sound but thats how its supposed to be...
Now I am thinking of installing a Catless downpipe mainly because I dont want to do a modification to the exhaust since it is all one part.

So Catless DP is my best option. However, I have some questions:
-Check engine light is gna be on all the time, is that fine how would I know when there is an actual check engine issue....
-Is it okay for the engine to remove the Cat?
-Some people are saying the smell that comes out of the exhaust is disgusting since i dont have a Catalizer
-I am afraid of it being too close to the engine for it to break something there..

Please let me know how has your experience been with a Catless DP mod. I am keen on doing it I feel the Supra's sound is extremely dampened...

Thank you!

It will smell terribly if you go catless. You will not pass any vehicle inspections.
But pops and crackles will be louder, exhaust will sound raspier.
A good middle ground is to get a 200-400cell high flow cat.

ehhh nah don’t listen to this guy, catless or bust. If you live in a state where emissions is an issue then I could understand it, but if you really wanna hear your car then go catless. Paying $600 for a downpipe to avoid a CEL or $1500 from AA is insanity, but to each their own. If anything if you’re doing the work yourself keep your stock downpipe and every year when emissions comes up just put it back on and you’ll pass.

1. If you go catless and are worried about something happening to your engine, get an OBD scanner and consistently check every now and then to see if anything pops up. If you want the CEL to go away from being catless, you can tune it out.
2. Yes, it's okay. Most people go catless anyways. If anything, it'll open up the flow and perform better since there's no restriction.
3. It's definitely gonna smell.
4. Unless you're installing it yourself and have no clue what you're doing, I don't see how it would damage anything. Sounds like you should take it to a shop, but it's a relatively straight forward install.

Do stock tune cars shoot flames when catless? It looks like it might be, but it's too light outside to tell.

Not a Corvette.
Dubai supras have OPF right? Not going to make a HUGE difference changing the DP until you take the OPF out.

your best bet is the catted downpipe, no smell, a more refined sound without the catless ras,p and more importantly, no fuel smell

i recommend the active autowerke downpipe to avoid the check engine light.
