Hi Everyone. I did my first oil change on the 2.0 today (dealer did several previously). Here are a few tips/things I learned:

1. The oil filter housing takes a 27mm socket, NOT the the 32mm for the 3.0.
2. To find the front center jacking point more easily, I used 3" high Race Ramps to see better under the car (see pic)
3. After jacking the car up w/ a 3 ton Harbor Freight Daytona low profile/extended reach floor jack, I used 12" Wheel Cribs by Race Ramps (see pic). They lifted the car very high off the ground.
4. I could not the get the drain plug off with a normal sized ratchet with the 17mm socket. I had to buy a breaker ratchet and this made it very easy.

I also changed my oil yesterday, but mine is a 3.0. You said you had trouble with the drain plug? Interestingly, mine was shockingly loose, took almost no effort. The specs on that drain plug (and the filter) is 18 ft-lb, so I guess that makes sense.

Wondering if there's a different torque spec for the 2.0? Or maybe the Toyota dealer just over did it in the previous changes?

Be very careful and do not over tighten the drain plug. Also, it may not be a huge deal but you aren’t getting all the old oil out if the car is that significantly nose up. Not sure how much it amounts to be some old oil will pool behind the drain plug at such a significant angle. It may not enough to be a big deal but something to think about.

May be a tip, may not be. I truly do not know how the oil pan and drain plug location are on the 4 cyl, but raising the car level is better in terms of drainage for the 6 cyl instead of only the front.

Apologies if this comment is truly pointless.

My guess is the dealer did not use a torque wrench and over tightened it. It is now at 18ft-lbs, which I am assuming is correct.

The 2.0 also has a different oil filter than the 3.0 which I was not aware of.

B48 engine oil filter for 2.0: Part# 11428575211-MAN (Mann filter brand)

B58 engine oil filter for 3.0: 11428583898-MAN (Mann filter brand again)

My manual does not give an oil capacity for the 2.0 but BMW says 5.5 quarts. Does anyone have the answer?
How Much Oil Does the B48 Hold? What is the B48 Oil Capacity?
B48 oil capacity is 5.25 liters (5.55 quarts).
