I looked in the owners manual, albeit probably not very thoroughly, and couldn't find anything on this.

What is this compartment for inside the trunk? Is something supposed to be in there? If so, what?

Just ordered one for $19.23 with tax, online. Had it shipped to my dealer for free pickup. I googled the part number and found a good price. Not expecting a breakdown but like to have all the accessories that were supposed to come with the vehicle.

It wasn't suppose to be with the North American one though. It was overseas accessory. If you want to order everything that every market got. You're going to have to order the fire extinguisher, the trunk net, foot and doorwell lights, and the 12V plug in in the trunk on european models.

Thanks and I realize it wasn't supposed to come in the NA destination vehicles but I wanted it anyway. Appreciate the list of extra items. Do you have part numbers for them?

Aside from the fire extinguisher (that's a new one for me), the rest are not possible without some serious modification. A few of us looked into the foot well and puddle lights, and the NA cars are not prewired for it. Nor is there pre-wiring for the rear 12V outlet. The D rings and the rear cargo net would require modification to the panels, etc.

Why does the United States always gets shafted on extra options. I know my Sport Touring Civic doesn't get panoramic roof, electronic adjustable dampers or any of the other goodies that other countries get. Even Canada gets all that stuff. And this BS with headlight laws over here is so outdated. Car companies are trying to make things safer and the United States is basically saying "no thanks.":banghead: Especially with these new LED/adaptive/laser headlights. They are trying to reduce glare for oncoming traffic as well as make the road more visible for the driver as well.
