This has been on my mind since I got my car a few months back. I thought I'd post this here as rust always seems like the number 1 issue for cars here in the UK.
Instead of dealing with it after it starts I'd really like to get in there with some preventative stuff - I'm a huge fan of Bilt Hamber products.
Problem is our cars are covered underneath with huge plastic panels. Accessing them and removing them looks like a huge pain in the arse - I can't imagine doing it DIY with jacks, I've even looked at buying some quick-jack scissor lifts that will raise the car up better but they are expensive for something I'll use once a year.
During winter time I'd love to get under there with snow foam on an undercarriage attachment but it'd only be hitting black plastic?
I know this won't be an issue for 90% of current owners but as someone who plans on keeping the car for a long time and has seen the effects of our salty Scottish roads on cars for 20+ years I know this is something that'll come up with these cars eventually.
