Thank you for the reply! Vipers are amazing. Big heavy V10s with clutch like a truck lol. My dream is a last gen viper, but prices for the GTS are still in the 6 figures!

Here's a story about my wedding day

So I rent a beautiful red viper convertible (had to be red because of good luck in Asian culture). I brought it home the day before but my aunt was sad because she wanted to dress it up with pink wedding bells and streamers, like the old tradition with a limo.

I said no, it's a freaking VIPER. But of course, I love my aunt so I let her decorate it anyways. Kinda tacky but great memory.

Anyways, I pick up my bride from her house and take her back to my house (traditional vietnamese Chinese style). I'd never driven a convertible before. Little did i know that driving at freeway speed, your hair goes EVERYWHERE.

My wife had just had her hair and makeup done, so the whole ride she was leaning down so the wind wouldn't mess up her hair! I look over and the whole time she's mouthing "I'm going to kill you" lol

Anyways, while on the freeway, I somehow accidently trigger the windshield wiper. Unfortunately my aunt had TIED THE STREAMERS to the wipers, and next thing I see is the wiper BREAKING OFF AND FLYING out into the freeway!

And that's how our marriage started lol. 18 years later, 3 kids, wouldn't change a damn thing

WOW! Now that's a crazy wedding story! Yea...the convertibles will mess up hair! Crazy!!

I miss my 2020 3.0 premium, sold it during covid used car price madness, thinking about getting back into one but a 6mt, as a previous owner getting back into the car but with a 3rd pedal what are your thoughts and comparisons?
People rate the AT as an 11/10.

I've only driven the MT and I'd rate it at an 8/10. It's great, but it's not a dream. It's got notchy gates, a short throw, and feels absolutely amazing. When you take each gear to redline, it is exactly what you want in a MT.

The clutch is the hard part to get used to though. Even with the CDV delete it's still a little wonky because the point where the clutch bites seems to have about 15% variability. I've got 3700 miles on mine and I still have jerky 1-2 shifts that are super annoying. One other thing about the MT is how short 6th gear is. 80mph on the freeway is 2900rpm and it's annoying. It would be nice to cruise at 2300rpm like in my Odyssey lol

I will say the shifts are getting better though. Maybe the clutch is just a little too bitey for the first 5k miles, I don't know. And I'm not a MT newb either. I learned how to drive on a clutch and my first 7 cars were manuals. One of those had a 2700lb pressure plate and I could get smooth shifts with it. I still go back and forth on wondering if I'd enjoy the car more with an AT. I have my first track day in 2 weeks so I'm waiting until then to see what that's like.

Yup I really like the car better with the MT! I have no issues with the MT at all. All these things people keep saying aren't landing with me. I've done like probably around 20-25 HPDEs and lots of autoX in the past and drove lots of different cars. Maybe I adapted easier? I did have to adjust my heel toe method a small bit in my first attempts...but got familiar right away. I can rip upshifts and downshifts smoothly in every gear with ease. Maybe it's because my primary focus has always been on feel of the car/clutch/ect. and my brain adapts. So that bite point is moving around 15% or so....I'd probably not notice...I'm just reacting to the bite.

As far as 2900rpm on the highway...I guess I'm used to that having more than few Japanese manufactured manual sports cars in the past. It sure does make for a awesome 6th gear pull when you need to pass. I did two 500 mile road trips already for my break in and it was great! I've already got 1700 miles on the car already! I definitely love it. The AT was awesome...but definitely wasn't for me even after spending two years with it. The MT has been perfect for me thus far.

Maybe it’s all in my head but after the cdv delete at 4k miles and now shy of 7k miles, I feel like the car has gotten better as far as clutch and fun factor. I don’t know if it’s broken in more or I have been broken in more as a driver to this car and familiarity. Nonetheless, it always put a smile on my face when I drive it.
