Two months of paying my car note.

Tangible goods:
  • Full Verus aero suite (sans rear diffuser unless I want to make it work with SP1R)
  • Femto Unlock for BM3
  • Set of Titan 7 squared track wheels

Send me a dm. Might be interested. I just bought my supra for myself for Christmas so I ran out of disposable funds.... but it might still be possible. Lol

i asked Santa for a new air freshener !

fingers crossed
That’s one of the few things I actually do myself on my cars annually - change the cabin air filter. So damn easy in the Mazda being in the glove box, ?. In my daughters Ford, you practically have to take the car apart to get to it ?. Man I hope it’s easy in these BMWs ??

Just got the intake, Thanks @NitroYellowMKV!
Very nice! It's interesting to see that MST switched to a silicone turbo inlet pipe and now use a clamp to mount to the turbo inlet rather than a metal pipe with a c-clip like the factory setup. It's too bad, as it's much less secure and the reason I dumped the Eventuri kit. With as much as the motor torques with the stock motor mounts in these cars, it was actually partially popping the turbo inlet pipe off. I don't think it would do it now that I have the Verus Engineering motor mounts with the 90A inserts installed, though.

On a positive note, I'm sure that silicone doesn't retain heat like the metal piping and is probably louder. The noise aspect is total speculation on my part, though.

EDIT: I 100% would have gone with the CF Armaspeed intake if it had used the factory-style c-clip setup given the CF isn't going to retain heat.

Perhaps it is cheaper for MST to switch to a silicone turbo inlet (?). I was a bit surprised myself when I got the package yesterday

I’ll keep a lookout on the silicone part and how it’s doing. I’ll add it to the list of things to inspect.

I ran silicone couplers and inlets at the turbo on other high boost applications and didn’t run into any issues, but like you said, it may be the way the stock motor mounts are and how there’s a lot of designed play in how the c-clamps work.

Good point on the cost - certainly could have been less expensive for MST to produce. I am really interested to know how it holds-up over time, so please do post an update if you don't mind! If it holds, I'd be willing to give it a shot, as I think the heat reflection and retention characteristics of silicone over the aluminum would be worth it given its proximity to all of the really hot bits of engine.

EDIT: One thing to note, and you probably already know this but I have to say it before @zrk reads this and responds. This component is on the intake side, so it's under negligible pressure. The shifting of the motor under load was 100% responsible for the (short) coupler on the Eventuri kit popping off.

Just did the install, it was straightforward enough, I was just glad I didn’t break the breather hose ?.

Honestly, I would have preferred the clamps. At least there’s an audible click to know I’ve installed the pipe right. The screw clamps are fine, but I always second guess myself about alignment and how tight I screwed everything down.

Let’s see how it holds up!
