I have never used a power washer on a car - in fact I don't see why you would unless its a semi/dump truck thats full of caked on mud.
My wife had a Ryobi and now has a Craftsman. Only uses it for the wheels. Otherwise, it’s doing pool cage, pavers, & other house duties.

I honest to God haven't used a hose on any of my cars for about 15 years now.

I clean in my garage with a bucket of warm water, and (if needed for winter) a small garden sprayer to rinse the dirt down.

I thrown the rags in the washer on hot with detergent and no fabric softener and then hang dry them.

I actually have a bunch of different stuff to rinseless wash. I really need to try it out and I've just been really lazy. Maybe tomorrow since it needs a bath but the wheels I still might spray down because of the brake dust

Total = ~$95 bux

You just need three cap fulls of the Optimum No Rinse wash and wax and two gallons (8 quarts) of water to wash your car. I spray down the car with the garden sprayer then wash from top to bottom, doing a little bit at a time. With my insulated garage, I can wash car year round and the amount of water that falls in the garage is about the same as driving in from a heavy rain storm.

The best part of the stuff is that you avoid being outside in the sun, I have even washed my car at night in the garage when it was my only free time.

I have to use some different stuff since my car has matte paint. I ended up getting 4 bottles which will probably outlast the car but it was only like 60 bucks for all of them. I've got a good sponge for doing it as well and a few different buckets

I got the car and it already had 3xxx on it and I'm not sure if they used proper soap on it or not. I have not noticed any change in color/look of the paint since I've had the car and just rolled over 20xxx the other week

How well do you follow the proper maintenance for matte finish?
