Why would a dealer sell for cash or credit union check only?

+1. What does a dealer care what financial institution a buyer uses as the buyer would get a check from them anyway to basically pay for the car cash regardless. Wierd..

Clean CarFax does not 100% mean a clean car. Sounds suspicious to me. Personally I would walk. Your decision.

If he's selling for his cousin. Maybe it's just consignment and check is going direct to his cousin. So can't finance it. It's basically a private sale.
