Just went to the dealer to get the update and they told me they replaced the tool they use (tista) with something else and they have no way of updating supras. I feel like I’m being lied to. What do you all think?
And even then, in the USA, you need to make sure they are willing to do the “repair”. Not many imo are up to @FuzzyRev85 standards, imo. We have to get past the sales service tech to the real mechanic back there. Then ask are you comfortable doing X,Y,Z. Nine times outta 10, they will tell you to take it elsewhere. Kudos to the honest shops out there. But you do have to get past the service tech to ask the person actually working on your car. Perhaps park on the side and talk to some people in the actually garage. You do need to make sure its a dealer that's at least GR certified. The dealer I go to isn't a GR centre but is one of the only ones in the area with a Supra Tech still on staff. If you are in the Birmingham area as your profile suggests i would recommend Stratford-Upon-Avon, They have always been great for me. Id also recommend calling first and booking too, if you just roll up and ask for the update i can see dealers coming up with all sorts of excuses.
