You HAVE to drill into the bumper to install canards right? 3M won't cut it, and it'll most likely fall off under high speeds, or can you get away with using 3M? Or does it largely depend on the canard you are planning to install? Mostly interested in the Varis canards. Thank in advance!

I had Autotecknic canards on my 2.0 and they held up very well.

I’m pretty sure even Verus Engineering’s canards are just 3M tape, and they are extremely respectable.

Ty for the response! Was your Autotecknic canards on 3M as well? I do believe Verus canards are entirely 3M though.

Verus is held on by double-sided tape. Not sure if Varis requires drilling.

If you are using canards for track use, rivets are best. If for looks, 3m tape is fine. We promise not to laugh :p

I did. No problem with high speed, but I only go fast for 9 seconds. Sold them because they were only hurting me.
9 seconds is slow.

Technically aren't canards just directing air, not actually structurally creating downforce?

I'm not a fluid dynamics engineer, so this is a real question.

Possibly, but I've seen a number fall off when not attached well. Bright side = not the end of the world if they do. Would most likely never notice. And no holes in the car.

They direct air
But also a bit of downforce

They just look like another tacked on ‘go fast’ accessory to me.

Sole track intend = respect.
