Front strut braces

Has anyone painted the raw aluminum struts in the engine compartment yet? They LOOK easy to remove, even though they've got some kind of weird nut on them. Maybe possible topaint them in place if careful??

Just take them out. Its an easy removal. Buy a set of these star sockets https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07JFJD53J/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. You will want to sand them and also paint both sides. You probably would make more work for yourself with potential over spary in the engine bay.

i think a regular 11mm socket can take those off if they aren't torqued on too tightly.

^ That looks so much better than the stock Schwinn bike look. The small decorative decal also adds spice.

My car didn't even come with a pair.. that sounds gutless.

I also painted the bolts metallic black so they didn't stand out like a turd in a punchbowl.

The bolts are E14

I had mine powder coated matte black when I was doing the wheels, they charged me $40 to do the braces. Pics are on the daily thread here:

I was thinking about wrapping them. Paint sounds better but easier to mess up. Powder coating seems like the best idea but hard to find good shops around here.

like how the red accents the rest of the hints of red.

I originally wanted a clean look and not too much red. But then went completely opposite ?? “Out of sight, out of mind” red +5hp
