I don't think that's a good idea, they are there for stability and chassis rigidity. I got a set of new ones from the dealer to put on my 20, Powder coated them yellow. Will prob eventually get the cusco one or something

Let's be honest here, It's mostly for looks and your really not going to notice anything different. Espec on the 2020....

It’s def NOT for looks. I track mine several times a month and removing them would be stupid.

Go to the end (post 21) for pics of them painted satin black - Krylon, around $10. Also, you do not need a special socket. I can't remember if it was 11MM like mentioned above but a standard socket works just fine.

Interesting. I added the bars to my 2020. They were $29 each + the bolts. But my bolts were the standard BMW 10mm affair. I had to tap the hole at the strut. Total install with tapping took 30 min. Might need to paint mine. I need to find the bolts spec’d for the Supra.

Nothing... it’s just common knowledge to not paint parts that are attached to a car. Paint can get on the wrong stuff or even paint down a bolt and be unable to take it out when you need to...

Whatever you do, you’ll get rid of it eventually for a real strut brace that’s made of steel and useful while looking presentable. I went with Cusco not long after I got the car.

Have you noticed a difference between the OEM aluminum and your steel Cusco?

I found it strange the OEMs were made out of aluminum - not the most rigid metal out there.

Aluminum can be very strong if right series used.

Haven’t really tracked it or driven it hard enough but I know the Cusco brace is heavy and solid enough to do job better than the stock ones. Aesthetically, it looks much better too. Even painted, the oem braces look odd. My handling is pretty good now I’d imagine compared to stock considering I have whiteline front sway bar with SPL end links installed as well.

Wondering if this is a worth while mod. I agree they "should" do a better job but that does not mean they necessarily will.
