After a dealer visit for the brake recall, I finally got a new pair of PSS rear tires after 16000 miles plus few track days. Car is bone stock, bench unlocked recently and flashed with BM3 91 OTS map. Added a little octane booster.

After some practice, the result is pretty consistent around 3.8. The point is to avoid the tire spin and maintain the maximum traction.

10% power reduce for the 1st gear and 5% for the 2nd.

Tire pressure at 39 PSI, temperature around 95F, half tank.

NO launch control. I heard it is horrible....

VSC fully off

Sports mode

Manual shifting

Launch at 1500 RPM, then WOT

quick shift to 2nd gear around 4.5K rpm(Depending on how sticky the tire is), then WOT

So, the 2nd gear can have full traction all the way to the redline.

Final thoughts, tire is the key! Pretty sure a set of stickier tires could easily break 3.5 in stage 1.

Since you're collecting 0-60 data via Dragy, can you try a few runs in manual mode while brake boosting from 2nd gear in order to see if the launches are more consistent and/or show an improvement in 0-60 times? Many owners that struggle to maintain traction in 1st gear have found success with 2nd gear launches.

I wish you had a 60' to post. Try 1/4 mile mode. Given what I know about your car I'd expect about a 1.8 or so 60', maybe a little better.

I'd suggest this (I copy/pasted this from a pervious post of mine ignore christmas tree stuff):

0. Sport Mode
1. Tap Traction Control - (turn off traction)
2. Hold Traction Control - (turn off VSC)
3. Switch to manual mode
4. Burnout in First gear in water box
5. Approach staging lights
6. Shift to 2nd
7. With you left foot, quickly double-pump the brake pedal. On the second pump, attempt to push the brake pedal through the floor.
8. While holding the brake pedal down, bring RPMs up to ~2k-2.2k RPMs quickly (you'll feel the car "squat"), this is the torque converter loading. Boost will climb.
9. On Green - Mash gas & release brake
10. Shift when you see the indicator reach 5500-5600 RPMs
10a. Don't shift out of 5th, ride it through.

Oh bro, this is intense! I guess even I can proceed perfectly, the 0-60 won't improve that much! My goal is to achieve 0-60 around 4 without doing too much preparation from standstill...Will try 1/4 mile when condition allows ?

Just tried few 2nd gear launches...it didn't turn out well. Wot from 2k rpm, hit a bad wheel spin around 4500 every time.

Lower your tire pressure to 30psi. Stock tires?

So - forgive the directness, but the stock tires are trash for drag. Like - trash trash. You'll never hook a great 60' or 1/4 with them. They're pretty decent at doing everything okay. If drag is your thing you might want to look into something a little stickier for the next time around.

Cool! Just intended to daily and occasional track uses. I guess PS4S will be a little better.

Or, keep it simple? I ran 11.98 and 1.74 60 ft on 200TW autocross tires. Short "burn out" after the water box just to dry them off. Launch at 2000-2200, everything off, full auto mode. I did try using manual mode and launching in 2nd once. I just don't believe our cars have enough torque for that on a prepped drag strip and stock power. Bogged badly and 60 ft went to like 2.2 or something. Almost forgot, I ran about 28PSI in the tires.

They absolutely do.
Lol. Mine doesn’t then. I was brake torquing for all I was worth. Probably 2400 RPM perhaps 2500 and it bogged terribly.

Try 1500rpms if you're bogging down. If you've actually built boost, and the torque converter is loaded (you can feel the car squat) you shouldn't bog down at all. You want to get up to RPMs quickly and hold it. Maybe a second or two so boost can build.

Car was definitely locked and loaded or “squated and boosted”. Took damn near all the left leg strength I had to keep the brake mashed hard enough to keep the car from lurching forward and red lighting! However, once I sidestepped the brake and mashed the gas it just hooked and bogged. Hence the 2.2 60 and 12.5 quarter. Had zero traction issues in first and it pulled like hell, obviously given the 1.74 60 and 11.98 quarter. On an unprepared street surface I’ve tried manual second launches and have zero bogging. Just wheels spin similar to starting in first. Just don’t think my cars stock torque was enough to overcome the prepped surface.
