BC Supra owners, please share your buying experience

Hello everyone. I've been lurking for a little while since I am now set on making an attempt to finally become an owner of a supra. So far I'm very early into the process, calling around local dealers and seeing what they're saying and preparing some deposit(s). So far, a rough estimate seems to be 6-9 months (nice) which I'm fine with since I'm not in a rush. If the wait is long then it is what it is, as long as there's actually a car in the end of that wait and I don't get ripped off with wack mark ups.

If you are in the BC area, I would greatly appreciate if you could share your buying and overall experience with the car. If there are other owners around Canada, feel free to chime in as well. Thanks!

My suggestion is to check the new inventory section of each dealer's website to see if you find one that isn't spoken for. There are a handful of dealers in metro Vancouver so you can go through them pretty quickly. There was actually a white 3.0 listed in Langley not long ago (now gone).
That's how I got mine months before anticipated thanks to a tip from someone on this forum.

The allocation process is shit and they don't give priority to deposits.
I initially gave a deposit in Langley only to find out an identical car arrived a couple months later in Downtown (unspoken for) and months before I even got a call from my rep in Langley.

I'd still give a deposit somewhere, but if you shop around you might jump the queue

Thanks for the tip. I've been looking for a Renaissance red or Nitro yellow, but I'll be looking around. Have you went for a service yet? Were there any hiccups? Seems like depending on the place of service they may be delays or something due to the BMW platform

I was just in this exact position and was literally looking daily, calling dealers, making sales contacts etc.
Ended up being referred to a dealership that had received one on trade through a contact I made here, purchased the next day.

I haven't seen a single yellow Supra on the roads. It'd be cool if you end up getting one.

I actually have not seen red either. So far I have only seen two, a white one in Richmond and a black one in Surrey. Maybe out of sheer luck I'll see you rolling around one day and I can tick the box for red.

Good to know about the service. As long as times aren't absolutely ridiculous I'm fine with it. Interesting there's only one per dealership, but that makes sense.

If it was the one from applewood i picked up the white one(2020). My friend is the tuner there and i went into just catch up, was talking about some tuning features between the GTR and the supra, he said he had a tuned supra on the lot, went for a drive and fell inlove with it haha they gave me a great deal on my 370Z so i couldn't really say no. The buying process with them was great! I live pretty much down the road from them so I'm always seeing what's new on the lot. There was a black one there but no Red or yellow yet.

There’s 5 supras in Abbotsford alone, 2 grey, 2 black and 1 yellow, we are also having a meet up on April 10th I believe. Dm if your interested in coming to check out all the supras

Dang, quite a decent amount of Supras. I'm surprised I haven't had more sightings yet lol. I've also only ever seen one C8 corvette, white and convertible. Don't think I'll be able to make it as I'm still swamped this month but if the meet happens you should share some pics!

I don't think we get that many allocated in metro Vancouver so I suppose they do go fast.

Though I've yet to see all that many on the roads as well. I've seen around 10 in one and a half years since I got mine and only one on floor display. Actually my first sighting was on my way to the dealership to pick mine up lol.

Ordered one in transit to NC. I live in Florida. Located it on the Toyota national website (red interior hard find), typed in the VIN in duckagogo search to locate the dealer that had it. Dealing with them direct. No markup but do have to pay for transport to Florida. Hope that helps.

I just picked up my 2020 last week from Lexus Port Moody. If you're interested in picking up with a little mileage on it...

My buying experience was pretty good. They weren't too flexible on the price, but gave me an amazing trade-in value on my Stinger that I had. They also threw in 4 brand new tires and I got them to include my first service for free. The real kicker is I got an extended warranty (120k kms/6 years) for an extra $10/month. Interest rate I got for financing is the exact same they're offering for a new Supra too, and it barely had any kms on it. I found all of the used ones I was looking at were all the same in that regard, barely driven.

Just thought I'd throw that out there in case you don't want to wait lol.
