Can JB4 Clear a Check Engine Light caused by a downpipe?

I have a locked 2021 supra and I really want a new downpipe. I thought about getting the AA downpipe, but $1400 ouch. so I was wondering if I got a different downpipe that set my CEL off could I clear the code using JB4? if not what can I use?

If you get a catted dp then it shouldn’t throw a CEL code. You can temporarily remove the code if it is a catless downpipe through JB4, but it will come right back.

Catted downpipes shouldn't throw a CEL if their cell count is 400 or more I think, but a 400 cell downpipe is a little quiet compared to a 200 cell downpipe. I think...

Get an AA catted downpipe and sell your OEM to @NitroYellowMKV to help with cost. It is what I did and no CEL w/JB4.

If you have a stock downpipe, that shouldn't be happening. It sounds like something else isn't plugged in correctly.

Short answer is "no".

Long answer is "you can clear it but it will come back". You need a tune to remove the CEL.

Or you can get a GESI approved catted downpipe which shouldn't CEL. My AA catted hasn't; there's a couple of others which fit the bill, but IDK the brands off the top of my head.

You can make a decent chunk of money back by selling your OEM downpipe since its got some nice rare metals in there.

JB4 can clear the code but not disable it. Id recommend going with an AMS GESi catted downpipe.

I can put together a package for ya if interested.
