IMO Z are ugly, all versions since like 2000? Not very familiar with them. I've never been a fan, and this looks the same with some smoother edges to me. Supra got real sexy when I saw it in person vs me hating it for a year cause pics of concept vs reality let me down. Now I own one and it's 10x sexier with proper stance, wheels and spoiler helps a lot!

Z....looks like a Z, which was never pretty, imo. To each their own.

Iā€™m waiting to see it in person. I thought the supra was meh till I saw it in person. I do think the 370z looks better and more aggressive than the new z.
Iā€™ll reserve full judgement till I see it. Iā€™m not an Nissan hater, Iā€™ve had many and have an Xterra still. But I do think the front is ugly as hell in pics.

Supra all the way. I have no allegiance (other than I just put money down on one)

The Z looks unfinished and amateurish. More early 2000s especially with the tail lights. Nissan doesn't convince me with their quality. They seem to be on a corporate decline

I know I own a Supra, BUT, the z400 looks so dam ugly. Looks cheap and un-refined in so many places. I admire them for doing another sport car but I see the z400 as a 86 competitor with looks and even the 86 looks better.

Supra looks better? I guess you guys need a trip to the optometrist. The overwhelming public response is that the Z looks miles better than the BMW Supra. Clean and modern, while respecting the previous Z's. The proof will be in sales- I have no doubt whatsoever the Z will outsell the Supra by at least a 4:1 ratio once supply issues are sorted.

Savagegeese: "The Z is the better driver's car- Z has a better front end"

From the factory, the Z is meant to be an all-rounder. It's a GT car from the factory. It will be a better daily driver than the Supra, has a less claustrophobic interior, has more compliant suspension, etc.

The Z will have a larger aftermarket scene than the BMW Supra. The sky's the limit on what you will be able to do with a Z.

It's made on the same assembly line as the GT-R in Japan. Nissan has spent tons of money upgrading the Tochigi factory as well.

All hail glorious Nissan!

No need to get banned for having an opinion. After all, everything you stated is an opinion, even what Savagegeese and others have said. At the end of the day, you like what you like and what you want what you want. Spend your money where you want to spend it, I have no doubt the Z will be a great car for the money, and if you're a Z fan, that's great. I had no allegiance before buying the Supra, I had never owned a previous Supra, but I had owned a 370z and 2011 3.8L Genesis Coupe and a 2016 3.8L Genesis Coupe, which were very similar in a lot of ways to my 370z.

After having owned the Supra, I can say this, the 370z is a massive pile of shit compared to my Supra and I seriously hope for all the "brand loyalists and die-hard fans of the Z", that it ends up being everything you hope it is, because with "1" singular modification in the form of a $400 catless downpipe, and $1400 in tuning, my Supra is making 510WHP and 552WTQ and running 10.9x second quarters and closing in on 7.xx 60-130's.

Do not forget that anyone that posts a Youtube video or anything in the media is going to be doing it mainly for reads or views, and being biased, one way or the other, helps the algorithm depending. I can say this, I personally don't give a single shit whether BMW made this car, or Toyota made this car. If Hyundai had made this car, with the way it looks, drives, and handles power, I would have bought it for the same price even if it were called something stupid like the "Hyundai Osmotron" or something worse..... Doesn't matter. I buy cars because they look good, sound good, run well, and handle power. That's it. So if you want to buy a Z just because "someone else" said it was great, or because it has "true JDM heritage", that's awesome, that's your choice and what you spend your money on is perfectly fine as long as you are happy with the purchase.

I hope you enjoy your Z when you get it, because I love my "BMW Zupra" and I love the fact that almost anything that rolls up beside me on the highway gets sent home packing. Come back to this forum and let us know how things go!

Hey, welcome to the forum. I'm assuming you have spent a good amount of time in both cars to be able to compare them and predict the future market trends. I don't know that I necessary agree with your future predictions - but you seem certain in your ways and that's fine.

On your point of appearances, I don't think I've gone for a drive yet in over 16,000km where I don't get comments, people taking pictures, even full conversations about the car - all of them positive. If it's as ugly as you say, this wouldn't be happening. If you think it's ugly, no problem. That's up to you.

But here's the real problem: its people like you. If you want a real conversation, grow up and stop saying stuff like "you need to see an optometrist." Don't have a name like "Nissan is true JDM." This is immature and you are only reinforcing the perceptions that so many people have of Nissan fanboys.

Just after seeing this kids name and the cars he drives... I knew I was in for an UNBIASED opinion /sarcasm.

I love that he spent the time and energy making an account here just to tell us how amazing Nissan is. Much appreciated.

2022 Supra GR,
I will wait until I've seen a few in person, but at this moment, that Z isn't doing anything for me and when I first saw the Supra sold at Barrett Jackson, I loved it and told myself I needed one. Seeing it in person solidified that for me.
I agree. I honestly don't think the Z will compare. I have a 2018 GTR here and it don't compare fit and finish to the Supra. The Supra also pulls the attention like an exotic car. Supra with the GTR, everyone goes nuts where u go

Hopefully not, we love to see differing opinions, but also expect some truth to be thrown your way.

Supra looks better? I guess you guys need a trip to the optometrist.
Your opinion -- in the meantime, I've gotten love from Ferraris, AMG GTs, 911s, M5 CSes, etc. Had some non-car people ask "is it a Porsche?"

The proof will be in sales- I have no doubt whatsoever the Z will outsell the Supra by at least a 4:1 ratio once supply issues are sorted.
Two things here: lots of sales isn't necessarily a good thing. Exclusivity is something we like to maintain. Also, you may want to split sales of the sport Z and perf spec Z. Only the perf spec can be considered a competitor from factory, and the Z forum doesn't seem too enthusiastic about that spec.

Savagegeese: "The Z is the better driver's car- Z has a better front end"
Still an opinion.

Most of us here didn't buy the Supra to be a daily. We want it to be a weekend warrior or track car, so you're actually upselling the Supra here.

The Z will have a larger aftermarket scene than the BMW Supra. The sky's the limit on what you will be able to do with a Z.
If I'm not mistaken, isn't it more expensive to work on the Z's motor because its a V6 than an I6? $1200 for a JB4, a custom tune for said JB4, and a downpipe and you're pushing 500 bhp on a Supra.

It's made on the same assembly line as the GT-R in Japan. Nissan has spent tons of money upgrading the Tochigi factory as well.
So is the Infiniti QX50 SUV (as determined by the folks over on the GTR forum). They all share the same production line for cost cutting.

Wait so youā€™re saying being built in the same factory doesnā€™t make it a GTR and thereā€™s no chance theyā€™ll just mistakenly put the Z body on the GTR platform? šŸ˜‚
Like some kind of Willy wonka golden ticket?
