noob question about dealer add on: carbon fiber mirror caps

I have bought a few cars from this same dealership. You absolutely can have them not tint your car. I did this on a TRD as I have a trusted source elsewhere for tinting. They tinted my Supra for me though, and it was not worth the money. Got a couple bubbles and messy edges on the tint. I am very picky about my cars though, so most people would probably not even notice my quibbles.

As stated by others above, the dealer installed options are not mandatory and all you gotta do is walk away from the purchase if they are not willing to play ball. Unless of course you are trying to buy a car on the lot that already has that stuff installed.

To order a new 3.0 Premium the dealer is quoting an additional

$998 for "carbon fiber mirror caps". Is this something that can be negotiated off the invoice? or is it worth getting? Thanks in advance!

FYI, The dealer is also quoting the following two items which I assume can be negotiated off:

$654.00 Vehicle-Protection Ultra Package

$998 lifetime warranty window tint and exterior protection package

Mine has them. Mine was 58k plus tax. Drivers package, locking lugs, and caps. There isn't much more to add for 21...that may be everything. They are nice and quality, they don't need an extra clear coat like lots of cf stuff.

That being said, you can get much much cheaper options online, so I wouldn't ask that they be added unless you care about the brand.

I've dealt with poor China stuff trying to install on friends bimmers, OEM all the way
May cost more initial, but done right the first time
My OEM F80 CF spoiler was put on my car back in 2015, hand me down to a buddy's F30 3yrs ago.....still looks like new

I think my Seibon TD spoiler is already fading . Gotta go get a second clear coat. So ya, I am glad it came with the car, completely finished and good quality. I heard getting them on can be a pita

Just picked up my '21 Tungsten yesterday and they had 11.5k in dealer options. I flat out said no and there are 5 other cars at other dealerships. They bumped everything down to 1k because of stuff already installed. Walked away with lug locks, rear carpet, mirror caps, ceramic coat, clear 3m door guards, and the 3 year electronics warranty for 1k. Total was 60k + TTL. You just have to play hard ball but you also have to have a market with several Supras available.
