I went to an unfamiliar mall... and on the way out I tried hitting my panic button but no horns alarm went off. When I was close to my car I tried pressing it again and still no horn alarm but the headlights turned on. Any idea what I'm dealing with here and how to fix it. Thanks

Usually you have to hold the button down for a few seconds. Unless that's what you already tried.

My short time of experience with this car is that you have be near to the car, usually toyota panic radius is like 50meters but ion know why i feel like because it's a BMW it has a short radius of activation. Like 10meters max.

If you use the panic button on the factory horn to locate your car, you will never want to be seen with your car ever again..

So best you not use that feature.. :dunno:

The panic button does not utilize the horn, instead a dedicated siren that is much less embarrassing.

Yes! I hit it a few times by accident in my pocket and it definitely sounds better than the horn and also scary haha. Thought I got rolled

Manual says button is for both pathway lighting and panic mode. Panic mode takes a 3 second press or 3 short presses.

Ever try 3 short presses?

That is the best thing that happened to the Supra since the 1990's.

Well sonofabitch!! Fun little tidbit of info. Can't wait until I set off the damn panic alarm while trying to light my way up to the front door

Maybe I'll just keep using my phone light :p

Seems like having pathway lights off doesn't allow them to be turned on with a tap of panic, or at least I couldn't get my lights to come on :(

"this supra is just so different Toyota"

This ain't no Toyota :) The Germans have a very different POV. Best when you encounter why x, how y, or z is broken is go check the manuals. There's all sort of push three times, hold for 10 seconds, jump up and down on one foot type features. My personal favorite is the linking of the garage door remote.
