As others have said, "quid pro quo" and "ask for forgiveness" works. There is also the tried and true "but they broke". Go to a car meet, act like you drive a mustang, hit a curb, buy new wheels.

I hate them too. I should just get them powdercoated, but I think I'll throw money at Apex instead and get some SM-10s. I was thinking bronze, but my wife dislikes it, so anthracite it is.

I had them stripped by HM Elliot they're a powder coating shop in Mooresville, NC. I polished them myself in the garage

To be honest it wasn't terrible. They chemically stripped them so once the neutralizing solution was off of them they shined right up.

Can you clear coat them somehow so you don't always have to polish them?
