This is how things should be. Where I come from, this story would've ended with a massive fine and "Lols. 30 day impound."
Ha. We must love in the same area. Police in the city I live in despise automotive enthusiasts. I blame the idiots running around in their straight piped muscle cars doing donuts everywhere.

What I'm saying is, it's "not in there." You won't save money. Two completely separate installs. You don't remove the intake manifold to get to the cames.
That won't save you any money. You don't have to remove the intake manifold to install cams and you don't have to remove the valve cover to install an intake manifold.
I understand that, guys. If I factor in peeling the web of wiring back that's laying on top of the motor, Uber trips to and from the shop, account for time I'm away from the office to do this (which I pay for in other ways than money), I'd rather have the convenience of getting it all done at once and save a few bucks while I'm at it.

You've seen it a million times, but I installed an MST v2 intake (with clear lid).

Wrote up some notes here (https://www.supramkv.com/threads/mst-intake-installation-video.7341/post-225748) including a question about the amount of oil in my stock intake.
  • Used channel locks to remove the breather hose with no issues.
  • Had to source my own hardware to secure the heat shield because the provided bolt was not long enough.
Also, when I started, I realized that my intake sensor was not plugged in at all. Not really sure how long it's been like that. It could have been like that when I bought it (7,000+ miles ago) or after the downpipe install (3,000+ miles ago), but either way, it appears to have had no impact on the car that I could see (further validating that it's not the most critical of sensors).

Got the Verus brake cooling kit and Verus master cylinder brace in today. The brace should be quick, but probably gonna talk to Seattle's BMW guru to get the cooling kit installed during the track off-season (no time due to other commitments for me to install)
You in Seattle area, I'm stationed at JBLMz what are the more common car meet locations and when?

There's a meeting from 11:30-2 for GR owners (86 twins and Supras) on Sunday down at Griot's in Tacoma.

Most of the Supra owners out here really only use them as summer cars, so this will probably be the last meet for the year.

Outside of Supra-specific stuff, there's usually daytime meets on Sunday mornings in most towns. There's one in Bellevue near Michael's Toyota, and Lake Washington Cars and Coffee is always worth checking out.

Not a MAF, just a temp sensor which is why you haven't had any problems with it off.

Got 3 sets of Kia Stinger oil filters and enough oil for 3 services. The new turbo in the Supra has been gobbling up oil. Hopefully this helps a bit.

I enjoyed the last drive of the season, cleaned her up, and hibernated her. 🥰
