I'm considering springing for the AA Catted downpipe. I definitely do NOT want CELs - that would bug the $hit out of me. I run 93 octane pump fuel exclusively from 1 of 2 (same brand / supplier) gas stations. I do have the Dinan Dinantronix X tuner that I run on map 5. I have not done any other mods at this time. My question - will I need any custom tune in my Dinan to ensure that the engine runs smoothly? How much performance gain can I expect if I don't get a custom tune in the Dinan?

The engine will run smoothly without any custom tuning. You cannot custom-tune Dinan.

Depending on your mods, you can get up to 25 whp from the downpipe; with your current Dinan setup, you'll probably get 15 whp since you cannot run a stage 2 map.

IMHO it's not
Reduce some weight will help the car in more than just acceleration
Lithium battery and 2 piece rotors
~$1500 and shave off 45lbs dead weight from the trunk and 3.9 lbs unsprung weight per rotor

Yes. And it will sound much better. If you are so inclined, you can sell your stock downpipe and recapture most of the cost of the AA. I sold my stock pipe for $950. When I bought the AA, I found a coupon code that took the price down to $1,282.

You get a sound upgrade as well as power by replacing the downpipe

I can get you the downpipe for cheaper than $1500

But since you’re looking for piece of mind and no CEL’s, ( like myself), then it will come with a cost. Plus, if you decide to run a tune later on down the road you’re $1500 15hp will become more.
