One of my friends is a GM at a Toyota dealer so they just check for me since the first dealer I worked with was always MIA

Mine was on the rail that departed on 12/12 as well.

That one is getting delivered next week. This is another one that I'm finishing up purchasing somewhere in the south

I got mine from the dealer. He just screenshot it for me, but only when I've repeatedly asked for updates. Sometimes he just told me dates without the screenshot.

Wondering if its safe to keep waiting till the last minute and then have my dealer screw me over.
Is there such a possibility at this stage? I am overthinking this?

After I've put a $5000 non-refundable deposit down for an A91, the same car was still available on the dealer's website. I had my gf call the dealer to ask about the same car, and the dealer said it was still available and requested a $1000 deposit.

That happens a lot. After I had to start looking for another A91, I called a bunch of nearby dealers with no "sales pending" tags. I'd say for every 5, 3-4 were already "spoken for", but they just don't put sales pending until it hits the ground.

It has been my experience dealing with multiple dealers chasing Supras that really only the person you have been dealing with knows what is going on with "your car", and unless that person at the dealership has the ability to reserve or mark "your car" as sale pending no one else at the dealership outside of perhaps the sales manager knows its status or that that vehicle is involved in a potential sale. To all the other sales people it is just another vehicle coming in to the dealership available to be sold.

It has also been my experience that many dealerships will say anything to get you in the door and will willingly ignore a lot of stuff chasing a sale. It is not an uncommon thing to inquire about a vehicle, be told "sure sure put in a deposit and come on in" and when you get there you get the whole "oh sorry bro that one is already sold but let me hard sell you on a dozen other cars you don't want".

Probably slower right now due to holidays. I'm sure it'll pick up mid-late january
