Well, turns out using fishing line to take off a trunk lip spoiler on a supra is a big BAD IDEA. The way the trunk contours, the fishing line gets put under tension and that plus the soft paint on the plastic trunk = paint annihilation.

I was so pissed, but at least it made the act of drilling into the trunk for the Verus wing not so bad anymore... and now I have my big wang installed.

Building the Evo taught me "F the aesthetics". I haven't even washed the Supra yet. 😂

You probably would have been better off warming it up with a heat gun and prying on the spoiler VERY slowly with only your fingers until the tape starts to separate..

I did heat it with a heat gun, but yes, I probably would have had a better outcome just prying the thing off. I was afraid I would pull the paint up. Oh well.

I've debated on removing my Rexspeed spoiler and replacing it with the OEM style carbon version, the fear of paint damage has kept me from pulling the trigger.

The paint on these cars (maybe it's just the white) is super soft. I fucked up mine doing the badge replacement.

This has finally been fixed.

Since the panel is ppf'd and ceramic coated, they went in thru the drivers door panel. Done in a hour.

Funny Supra story. When the guy dinged me, insurance said take it our shop.
Hi sir. The estimate is $1200, minimum, And I won't do the work.
Sorry? Is it going to cost $1200 to fix this thru insurance or not?
Sir, I'm not able to do anything with this exotic wrap.
It's not a wrap. It's factory paint from Austria.
Sir, I'm not able to do anything with this exotic paint job from Austria.
Me Sir, it's a Toyota.

Place in NoVa fixed this for $220 in a hour. Please feel free to DM for name of company. I don't work for them or have skin in their game, but I was so stressed about the phantom care / tax and it was an easy fix!

New windshield tomorrow. Dealer has told me to piss off, so I'm out the deductible.
An expensive, but needed, maintenance weekend.
