THE DESIGNS

SM-10RS
Introducing the Forged SM-10RS. An ultralight version of our already popular SM-10 design. We’re a function-over-form brand, so we took our time and engineered this wheel to be our best. The original SM-10 has been re-engineered with thinner spokes and extra-deep side-milling for maximum weight reduction. The SM-10RS is now our lightest wheel in some fitments and meaningfully stiffer than our popular VS-5RS.

VS-5RS
The VS-5RS was built to be extremely light while still offering a meaningful strength increase over our flow formed wheels. For those looking to shed as much weight as possible to improve lap times.

EC-7RS
Our stiffest design, the EC-7RS is meant for the drivers who want to prioritize stiffness while still maintaining the lightweight and classic motorsports looks that our customers are looking for.

We are considering additional GR Supra fitments for SM-10RS, but we don't have a firm timeframe just yet. We'll be in touch with the community once we have something more concrete though!

We have moved away from the 18x10.5" fitments for the GR Supra. As people have gotten more time with the platform we've seen a shift with owners going for 11" wide wheels when possible. We may reconsider the 10.5" if we see a significant enough demand though!

Great question! I'd like to provide a bit of extra information in addition to that.

While we do currently manufacture in China and Taiwan, we aren’t simply placing orders for wheels like some manufacturers do. All APEX wheels are designed by our in-house team of engineers in the USA, and we even design the dies that stamp out the raw forgings used by these wheels, instead of buying off the shelf blanks. This allows us to control the design and use far more advanced FEA techniques, in addition to providing higher levels of QC than most imported wheels.

One of the ways that we maintain that higher standard than most imported wheels is by sending our wheels to STL labs in Ohio and the VIA in Japan for independent testing. We can document that our wheels are designed and tested to higher standards than what many companies adhere to, and we feel that’s important when you’re pushing the wheels in a high stress situation, be it on the track or on the road. Ultimately, our engineering team has years of direct experience manufacturing high end motorsport wheels right here in the USA, and we’re simply applying scale and volume to what would ordinarily require boutique pricing.

Our 75mm stud kit allows for a spacer up to 12mm or no spacer at all. If you're looking to run a larger spacer than 12mm, our 90mm stud kit allows for up to a 25mm spacer.

For transparency this is a render of the SM-10RS using an accurate face profile, tire size, ride height etc. As mentioned in our previous post we are very close to shooting real SM-10RS sample wheels for GR Supra, but we wanted to get some inspiration out there ASAP and this rendering is a great representation of what to expect.​

We filmed the video below this morning specifically for enthusiasts involved in this Group Buy that have only shown interest thus far (aka have not officially pledged yet), but it touches on some important updates so we decided to post it here in the public update section for those that have pledged to see as well.




When we originally launched this deal we wanted to be really conservative with our ETA dates. Now that we’re so close to the end and we have more data to work with, we're happy to report that we’re in a position to ship hundreds of wheels this month, shortly after the deal closes! This positive shift applies to a large quantity of VS-5RS and EC-7RS fitments that were originally slated for April fulfillment, and we’ll be sure to update customers following the closure of the deal so you can plan accordingly.
