Yeah that's what stuck out to me too. Damn, that's heavy lmao. I guess the "under 1500kg" claim that many the reviewers have mentioned for Supra is in fact a significant weight savings over the Z4. There's no way in hell we're under 3200 though, that's just too much of a differential. My guess is 3280-3320, which is still heavy imo, but okay with me after my discussion with Ken lol. I take much more stock in his honest impressions than just the spec sheet lets off.

Very interested to see what the 4-cyl Supra weighs in at. 1400kg would be extremely impressive...

Now I’m thinking the US spec Zupra won’t be anything less than 3400lbs.

I think that weight is with a 75kg driver because at page 52 of the brochure you can see the EG1 note which goes to weight but it is in German and it reffers to something which is 75kg soooo minus 75kg people

The second line is gross weight where it lists 1860 .. it adds 250kg for passengers and luggage I believe.

1610kg is measured according to EU standard ("Leergewicht EG") and is defined as: the mass of the vehicle with bodywork in running order or mass of the chassis, including fluids, tools, spare wheel (if fitted) and driver. The mass of the driver is estimated at 75 kg; the fuel tank is 90% full and systems containing other fluids (except used water systems) are filled to 100% of the manufacturer's stated capacity.

So, if we remove 75kg from the passenger, and 25kg (half tank) from fuel, we have these weights:
Z4 sdrive20i = 1380kg = 3042lbs
Z4 sdrive30i = 1390kg = 3064lbs
Z4 M40i = 1510kg = 3329lbs

If we believe the Supra to be 50kg lighter, that would end up at 3219lbs (1460kg).

Really, after all of the information out there you guys are still trying to macgyver the weight to bend to your wishful thinking? It’s a freaking hatch and it will weigh a lot more than a Cayman, no way around it. 3,300-3,400 pounds, Even Toyota engineers fessed up to it. Get over it.

Well, the overall target weight is ~1400kg, but that being the case doesn't mean it can't cheat up or down based on trim.
I bet that statement's not going to be very popular with some of the haters around here, but that's what the ignore button is for ;)

I think I read one of the reviews where it mentioned one of the trims might have sensors to monitor the road and perhaps actively manage the suspension, a la GT350, at least on the Supra. Have you heard anything about something like that?

You aren't very far off as it has active suspension, but the specifics on how it's managed aren't something I was privy to. There is another aspect to that system that's helpful though, provided they kept it.

As far as weight, the 1400kg figure was given by an engineer (to me) and also by Tada's best friend (publicly), so they can hate it all they want haha.

Quoted so people read it again. The Z4 does not weigh 1610kg without a driver.
