Ideal tire sizes for 18x10 / 18x11 on stock suspension

I've got myself in the Apex group buy for some VS-5RS in 18x10 / 18x11 and I'm thinking about tire sizes. I'd like to move up in tire from 255 to 275 in front and from 275 to 295 or 305 in the rear. I don't track the car, but it'll see the drag strip maybe twice a season. I'm also currently on stock power, but that'll change either by mid summer or perhaps next spring.

If I went 295, will the 11" rears cause the tire to be stretched? I'm not a fan of the stretched tire look, so I'd like to avoid that. There's a big jump in tire prices when comparing 295's vs 305's, which is also why I'm asking. I live in Canada, and I DD my car year round, so dropping the car on some nice coils or even springs isn't really in the cards for me. If I did go 305 in the rear, do I need to do any suspension mods to make those fit? Would I need spacers?

in my experience, 285 is the perfect fit on a 10” wheel. I have a 275 on a 10” and it has a little stretch to it. 305 for the 11”

You wont need any suspension mods or spacers if you buy wheels with the right offset. A shitty offset may require spacers but why buy them if you have to run spacers.

Apex has an online fitment guide for the A90 that will tell you exactly what they recommend. They're also active here on the forum, so you can put this in their wheel thread.

Thanks for reminding me about their fitment guide, I totally forgot about that. Based on that guide, their recommendation is 275 / 295, which is what I'll go for. Thanks everyone!

I have Apex in those sizes, different wheel though. One thing to keep in mind is it’s a bit hard to find a non track oriented 305. For instance I run a continental 18x 295 on the rear and they don’t even make a 305 in 18. At least not on Tirerack.

Yeah, I'm going the Conti route as well (Extreme Contact 02's), in 275 / 295. Once the wheels are ready to ship, I'll order my tires and hope everything comes in at roughly the same time.

I’m lowered on HR springs, but I run 265/40’s up front. Contis run wide, so there is no stretch. You need to be careful with 275s and Contis as I remember because the inner perch of your spring can sometimes rub on the tire. There is a whole thread from Apex on this form somewhere.
