Hello everyone, literally just got my Supra a couple hours ago, finally parked her in the garage and powered her off. Immediately I notice the hazard lights button shining bright red through the back window. Does this ever turn off? Am I doing something wrong.

quick response greatly appreciated as I don’t want to drain the battery.

I just went outside to take a pic, it finally turned off. I waited outside to watch it turn off for like 3 mins, maybe the threshold was a little longer. Thanks though, appreciate it!

That button as well as the headlight auto button light stay on during the 7 minute power down time. Basically, when the car turns off, there are various systems still powered for 7 minutes until the car finally shuts down fully. The hazard switch will stay lit. It’s how I know if my car has fully powered down or not.

Short version: Totally normal

Welcome to BMW ownership :)

Happens to most new supra owners, happened to me. It's normal. They stay on for a bit.

I noticed 2 things when I parked my car home straight from the dealer:
  1. Hazards stay on
  2. Exhaust ticking when car turned off (it's just metal expanding)
It's all good. You're gonna keep finding new things that'll make you wonder, but I guarantee most of them are normal

Ever since I got the AWE I dont hear the metal ticking anymore because im assuming the exhaust components are much more heat tolerant. Its actually a little weird NOT hearing the ticking sound lol

3. Brakes squeaks. Esp. after washing the car they'll even stick.

Just make sure to hold the power button (on volume knob) down for few seconds after shutting down. That'll turn off majority of the electronics.

Should I go outside and do that right now or is that a peace of mind type of thing? Kinda like giving the knob on the front door of the house a wiggle after you lock it just to make sure it’s really closed haha.

Cool thanks, still getting used to forum format. Seems like when I search for keywords I can’t find exactly what I’m looking for. Just gotta learn the quirks, I suppose. Will definitely read into that.
