Thoughts on someone doing the equivalent on an empty autobahn? Just curious what you think the difference is besides the law. Empty highway is empty highway.
Difference is people on the autobahn expect you're coming and/or are traveling at equivalent speeds. That creates awareness.

"Let me add an extreme anecdote from a spoiled rich kid who is clearly an idiot and apply this to everyone"

Ah yes, "professional driver" elitism. Best part about owning sports cars, idiots that pay money for them and only have fun on the track :)

And to the mod that removed my other comment for "STREET RACING", lol power trip much. Wasn't racing anyone.
Ah, another dumbass.

totally agree, but this guy said the highway was empty. It's his risk to take.

Honestly I'm on your side when it comes to any sort of traffic on the road. I hate seeing people swerve through traffic at 100+.

But also, it sort of comes off like "abstinence is the only method of birth control" 😂 People are going to speed on public roads regardless, so we need to raise awareness to only do it when conditions permit.

Conditions permit it on the autobahn (driven there plenty) where it's legal and safe(r) and on tracks.
And there's a difference between speeding and reckless driving.

Can we just clip this thread. No point in promoting reckless driving on public roads. If you think you're smart enough and good enough driver do it on your own. Don't need to dick measure stupidity. Can't wait to see your car in the salvage thread or worse news headline or obituary.

I think this is one of those never ending controversial topics.

There is a great quote in "The Mandalorian" show from the chap played by Bill Burr, about how everyone 'draws the line where they want at the end of the day', in regards to Mandalorian law saying they can't show their face, yet, he removed his helmet to save Grogu.

Likewise in Breaking Bad, Walt and Hank are having a BBQ and Hank is having an illegally seized cigar, as a DEA agent... Walter asks him the same question about where does he draw the line...

We all know the law, but I think anyone, and I mean anyone, that buys a straight six, Rwd 375+ hp car is proooobably not going to adhere to the speed limit at all times, else you'd buy a Corolla.

Still, it's a shame some have resorted to name calling and being very disrespectful here.

Yeeeeeah its not like this guy is cutting up traffic at 100 or doing a street takeover - F those guys😐

A single run up to 130-140 on a completely empty highway does not warrant the disrespect shown here. As you said - at what speed is reckless driving? The answer, of course, is depends on conditions.

I would never encourage someone to do it, but let's just show some more respect... No one else is put at risk besides the driver.

Like I said, speeding and reckless driving are two very different things

No, the answer is actually a set number. Over here, more than 15 mph over the speed limit.

That is a legal definition yes, and it's more than that in my state.

You can also drive recklessly below the speed limit.
