Reverse Light White Leds?

I noticed on US Supras it appears all the white LEDs are on when reversing, however on my UK one it's just the ones on the edge of the unit? (See photo)
Trying to understand if this is a weird EU/UK spec thing or if my light is faulty?

Australian cars are the same. Are the fog lights automatically turned on?

Yeah.. just checked the manual. Never had a car with a rear fog light but none up front before. Interesting.
