That was already a thing for the '23s, they just continued it forward. You also used to get the equivalent of $5000 in GM rewards points for holding it for at least 6 months. That was eliminated for '24 which was the only change from the prior year. The combination of the two still wasn't enough to deter flippers and their buyers.


As for reliability... "You're gonna want that TrueCoat..!"

They still have some kinks to work out. A buddy of mine had an engine failure at ~600 miles that went viral. After the engine was replaced he had a transmission failure on track. Say what you will about GM, but they do warranty track failures unlike.. ..ahemm *cough cough* Toyota.
