Hey all. I see tons of videos and posts suggesting mods or add-ons for this car.
What I rarely see are posts about purchases or modifications that people regret doing. Maybe a mod that turned out to be less awesome than expected.

So far I have a little pile of goodies waiting for my car, but I'm holding off on major purchases until I've driven it a while.
Other than a certain tuning shop, is there anything that sounds great or gets a lot of hype but isn't actually all it's cracked up to be?

The mod I regretted the most was the Rexpeed carbon rear diffuser overlay. I don’t want to speak badly of Rexpeed because most everything else I get from them has been beautiful and in my experience they have great customer service, but this piece was very disappointing and of course you need to cut the stock black plastic fin off for it to even fit. On the bright side it made me just go for it and I replaced everything with the Seibon MB front lip, side skirts, and rear diffuser kit because of it.

Getting a hi flow catted downpipe… be a man go catless

It’s really a waste of money IMO tho just get an armytrix catless if your afraid of a CEL on a stock tune/JB4
On a stock turbo? Nah boo. Bigger turbo? Yeah go catless

The custom Botti Stage 1 dyno tune that's great on the street isn't so brilliant on the track. Looking to upgrade to a GESI downpipe and intake manifold then retune for 93 and 100. This will be a good power level for HPDEs so I don't overheat

I’ve tuned with Mikey as well… for drag racing and street stuff his tune was perfect for me, since I like it on the aggressive side. If I was doing HPDE I’d probably go with Payn

now I’ve got a 2022, so I’ll be looking for a BM3 tuner once I get the balls to unlock

I bought some Advan A052s that I thought I wanted when I was planning on some track days, but they suck balls for day to day use… obviously ? There’s so much gravel on my roads, and it’s so wet here all the time, that I don’t know what I was thinking. Especially as I don’t ever want two sets of wheels. Now I run all-seasons because less traction means more fun to me. My Boost Logic exhaust has been on the shelf for nearly two years as I was waiting for a new engine; does that count as a waste of money?

I also bought some door pulls that were terrible (in the bin now), and a couple pieces of plastic “carbon” trim from Amazon that weren’t worth the $7 they cost me.

I have a tuner lined up, but I'll definitely keep that in mind. I was tuned on ECUTEK but I'm going to switch to BM3 for my track retune.

Hoping to end up with 420ish at the wheels without overheating on 100...

1. I was disappointed in the JB4. I didn't really notice much difference in performance even with a custom tune. I mostly stopped driving the car on the street anyway, so I just took the thing off and sold it. My car is basically track duty only so a JB4 isn't really appropriate.
2. I had a DP with HF cat on it to hopefully alleviate some heat/stress during track days. I couldn't stand the occasional CEL (my anti-fouler mostly worked) and the class I run doesn't allow it.. so that's gone.
