Hi all, I'm debating on which intake to order, looking for the most turbo noises.
I've watched tons of videos and it's a tough decision, would love to hear from your personal experiences!

I came across a thread from several years ago talking about cts "with open inlet" can anyone elaborate on what that means exactly?
Thanks!

Thanks for the response ? that's where my head's at right now.
How difficult was the install?
Of course ???? the hardest thing on replacing the intake there is removing the dang breather hose without breaking it. took a minute but if you take your time and don’t go balls to the walls you won’t break it. Other than that, everything else is super easy.

The trick to removing the breather is to not bother pulling it with your hands. Squish the clip, then use the twisting leverage of a thin screwdriver inserted into the seam to pop it free.

I had the CTS intake and loved it! Loud turbo noises.

Neither. Stock air box with an FTP intake pipe and high flow drop in filter. Love the sound of those intakes but they suck in a lot of hot air.

I have not seen any data showing power loss from upgraded intakes, but there are data posted showing gains

CTS Intake was by far the Easiest install for me.

I agree with everyone with the breather valve. Just take your time and don't get aggressive lol

Also invest in a good heatshield for the turbo!
Appreciate the info! I ended up ordering the ARMASPEED, will report back with sound clips when it arrives.

Many on this forum have admitted to noticing a power loss when things get heat soaked but opt for the sound over performance. The data isn't real world by any means. It's on a dyno with the hood open and a fan blowing on it, of course you will see gains under those conditions.
Lap times and time slips tell the tale on how power robbing the aftermarket open filter intakes can be.

Very interesting, the ARMASPEED intake is a closed filter system though. Hoping I won't notice any power loss.

I agree.

After the installing the CTS I felt like the car was sluggish. I made sure everything fit tight no air leaks too. Upon doing more research I learned that the Turbo being so close to the Intake basically sucks up the hot air from it. Unfortunately it isn't as easy as plug and play of you want gains. You need to invest in better air flow like heatshield and a snorkel to get the best gains outta any CAI.

That's just my opinion from what I've read so far.
