As my wife said, “Got to make sure a camera’s on him while he apologizes to George.”
I seen a video of Lewis apologizing to George, short clip on facebook. So Lewis didn't just do it in the media, he did it to his face also.

Was that before or after he got on the radio saying he got taken out by his teammate ?

That "champion-like" behavior only seems to come out when the TV camera's are on him.
Man, just what a terrible take on radio comms. You'd think that after 3 titles, your butt would stop hurting over Lewis, but I guess not?

I wouldn't know, I didn't watch the race, but if you say he was bitchin on the comms then sure, I believe you; but that's my point - they ALL complain on comms, they are ALL (well, %99 of the time) not responsible for hitting the other car, then ALL (ish) apologize when they get out of the car, the adrenaline drops they leave that race mode and they see the replays that we can see.

I'M the one that's butthurt
OK boss.

They don’t all apologize or admit guilt. Then you have some that do the poor behaviour of apologizing but giving a reason why they did it, which is trying to justify actions and placing some of the blame on others. So when Lewis apologizes, takes full responsibility, and does so in the media and directly to the driver, that’s not something you see often.

Yes they all complain on the comms, Max less so this year only because he’s miles away from everyone. When someone is close or he is having a harder time then he will complain. But like I said it’s not as often this season it seems.

Yup. He was whining like the rest of them when he wasn't first and getting testy at his race engineer; like I said, they all do it & Max is certainly no exception - he just happens to be first ~%99.9999999 of the time ;)

Views on this seem to rely heavily on whether or not you're a fan of Lewis. Most LH fans see his apology as genuine. LH haters think it's false humility for the cameras. For the record, I fall into the second category more often than not. I'm also not a fan of Max, but both of them are stupid fast.

I don't consider myself a LH hater but I do think he complains and blames others a lot. I think he's a top tier driver who gets very emotionally invested in the sport and wants to win. In some drivers it manifests as whining or complaining. You don't get to F1 without being a highly talented driver who thinks they can be #1. And yes, even drivers like Stroll would crush most of us in a street car. Probably all of us.

It's a very rare thing to find a driver who regularly admits their mistakes yet manages to have that supreme confidence to win races.

No probably, there isn’t a driver on this forum that would go toe to toe with the slowest/worst driver on the grid.

I like to tease some when they talk trash about a driver. But Max’s (insert Lewis, Alonso, Lando etc…) toenail clippings have more talent then me or anyone else I know and I do happen to know a professional race car driver or 2 personally.

100% agree with this. Saw it was his fault upon viewing the replay and owned up to it. Simple as that.

And yeah, I also agree the only reason we hear less from Max is because Adrian Newey and team handed him a car head and shoulders above the others which nobody bothers trying against.

I agree with all y’all. Except Checo is in the same car and nowhere near Max’s capability. He has reached a pinnical that no one can deny. Clearly well deserved. Love watching Max drive!

Yet Sergio is no 2 in the points. Lewis is close to overtaking that position. Back to the race, Lewis is on softs, George is on mediums. MB should have talked strategy and said if Lewis has the shot, go for it (being on those soft tires). After all, he still is Lewis Hamilton…. So George, know your surrounding. You are a good driver. Want to be even better? Show it by working as a team with one of the best drivers in the business. Where is Toto? He needs to be present to reel that situation in.
