yikes
friend is still on the list to get one 2024. If you go on their forums there are more than a couple QC issues.
The problems that car is throwing and the lack of really coherent corrections to many of them are amazing. The software issues etc. I would not touch an Emira unless its built 2 years from now. They cant keep ECU's dry in just washing the thing. ECU's getting wet etc. Thats not a reliable new car at all. Not yet and the 4cyl is not a good match with the chassis given the gearbox set up with the engine. Its a sealed unit = motor and gearbox and Lotus is basically locked out of it for tuning.

Was driving on the highway and thought I saw a McLaren, so I decided to speed up to see it. To my surprise it was an Emira. Never seen one in real life or in photos until I saw this thread. Looked cool, gave a thumbs up

Been told my FE should be arriving end of December or early January, but I am still very on the fence, it looks and sounds awesome, and a lot of reviews say it drives really well, but If I take it, it would mean selling my supra and won't make that call till I get a chance to really drive one. Being an old MSRP Emira I know I should at least be able to flip it for some profit worst comes to worst.

Yes, I've been on the Lotus forums for many months and pulled my deposit because of what I've seen - too many electronics issues. It's like an Alfa Romeo, only worse. I really wanted to get one but I refuse to go back to Corvette land of constant issues.

Except the performance this time is not that phenomenal for the price that they're asking for.

This^. They shot their wad at interior, comfort and styling. For 100k you need something better than a decade old Toyota engine

And thereā€™s NO WAY my OCD could deal with rain water dumping on my engine.

Its a beautiful 'old' car in terms of power and tech. Tooo much hype and not much on durability, performance or even good testing?? I had 3 different Lotus Turbo Esprit. They were reliable, not too difficult to work on and I daily'd the 86 Turbo HCi for over a year. The shite Im reading almost daily about the Emira is literally a joke. They rushed this thing to market. Hired a new workforce as they upped production from 1200 cars per year to a target of a desired 10k per year. Thats not how it works. Many of the new workforce have zero car production experience. The car is a big no at cost and early bugs/shite/utter unreliability. I was hoping for a 4cyl but Im not about to go down that road for 18 months minimum. If ever.

Same. Have you seen what happens to the C8 engine bay in the car wash?
