To buy or NOT to buy?

I was about to purchase a 2020 3.0 near me when i noticed the hood and front bumper have been repainted. It has a clean carfax so it was obviously out of pocket. How concerned should I be? Should i move on the the next one? It has $23,000 miles and its $47,000 which seems like a descent deal.

If you’re concerned take it to a body shop for an inspection. They will be able to tell you if you should be worried or not…

I would recommend OP get it looked at first. Such a blanket statement. Lots of people here have a80 style wing that basically garage queens it. Other than it being higher in miles. What else says it looks like a beat to shit ricer.

Red is a tough color to match, i would walk away. Why was it repainted, more than likely accident?
why mess with a car that has been wrecked / repainted unless it some smoking deal?

Wing, door covers, looks like it's lowered. Mismatched paint on bumper and hood indicates front end damage to me, and either it was repainted shitty, or the replacement parts didn't match. Either way it's a red flag.

Still, yeah would want a pro look at it to tell if there was any significant repairs made.

If you’re concerned now, you will always be concerned. Just find another one. I think you will see more of these for sale next year when the market goes to hell. Good luck as I love my 23.

I wouldn't. Just as your asking here, it obviously bothers/intrigues you that it's repainted. You'll always wonder why. Even if it checks out fine, it's still a repaint with no truth story as to why. Could be a million reasons, paint chips, hit an animal, hit a car, hit a person, a scratch from rolling across the hood for a Whitesnake video, who knows!!
