Hi guys... I have an estimate from the stealearship to replace the purge valve and vent valve coz its leaking and got an estimate of $1700.

I'm wondering how much is it and how hard is it to replace the purge and vent valve.

Is replacing that so difficult that it would cost $1700?

need your insights... help a brother out. ?

Are you talking about the fuek tank breather valve on top of the valve cover? That takes like 3mins to swap out.

to be honest I don't know what it looks like....
I got a CEL and I have an EVAP code. I let the dealership do the smoke test and told me that i had a leak in the purge valve area and told me I needed to replace the purge and valve vent since both of those are related to the EVAP system.

Ah okay if it's the purge valve at the charcoal canister it's in the rear and I believe you need to remove some of the suspension to get to it but I might be wrong. @zrk might have a better idea here.

Honestly, I would look for a BMW shop close to you and get a quote as well. I bet it will be much lower than the dealers quote.
