Hello guys, I've been interested on this Alibaba turbo which uses bored out stock housing and gtx3582r turbine wheels and I wanted to see if anyone here has this turbo or what your opinion about it is. Vendor sent me a dyno sheet on ethanol and it spooled up at 3500 rpms which surprised me a lot knowing other stock frame turbos like the Pure 800 spools up to peak boost at 4000 rpms (see photos attached for Dyno sheet) and also this turbo is rated for 750whp for just $1650 US plus shipping. For that amount of money is almost a no brainer for me specially knowing half the aftermarket turbos for sale out there are made in China as well.

Here's the alibaba link if you guys want to check it out: https://www.alibaba.com/product-det...TX3582R-turbo-Dual-Ceramic_1600733059867.html

cold side wheel is 66mm
hot side wheel 58mm

That's for Gen 1 B58.

The Alibaba G30-900 is what you want to be looking at for Gen 2 B58

Okay.

G30-900 is newer wheel tech, although they aren't actual Garrett wheels so who knows.
Yeah looking at the tread you started with all the turbo sizes, I noticed that the g30-900 has a new cast housing thus explaining why it's rated at 800whp vs the gtx3582r 750whp. I just cant find it for the 6 port version lol

The fun starts when you do, ever see what happens when a turbine wheel didn’t have good QC and is not balanced properly when it spools up? I hope save a thousand or two is worth a $20,000+ new engine, just saying.
How the hell do people afford a $60k+ car and then think it’s a good idea to cheap out on shit that will go boom.

im not trying to be a dick, but if you can’t afford a quality control turbo from reputable company, then you can’t afford what it’s going to take to make your engine safe with an aftermarket turbo.

Figure out what a full setup will cost you, this includes tuning. Save up some money, buy real products that have been fully tested and do it at once to save you now and later. Modding cars isn’t cheap, and if it was, more people would do it.

I would advise against it, for a little bit more money I would go with CTS or the new DAW option coming out. at least those a little more proven and tested by reputable shops.

Ali Baba Turbo is never a good idea. Getting a non-brand Chinese turbo without a proven track record of reliability is one of the worst mods you can get.
The results can be catastrophic and costly. Save Ali Baba for cheaper and simpler parts.

Cheaping out on a turbo for a sportscar doesn't seem like the best idea. ?‍♂ It's like buying condoms from a clearance rack. Anyone wanna play a game of Russian Roulette? ?

At my buddy's old speed shop, we had a giant shelf to display the remnants of all of the 'eBay T3/T4' turbos that exploded on the dyno during the initial tuning sessions. I got to tell a few kids "well, that's the most expensive $300 you ever saved isn't it?"

I mean, where do you think DAW turbos come from?
