Thanks for sharing the pics. This would be my next step. It looks like you will try and keep as much of the interior panels post cage. Pease share what the dash looks like once back in as this looks great.

Was this stripped simply to put the cage in and then put back most of the original interior, or are you planning on keeping it bar bones? Reason I ask is the back half I see the carpet and speakers still there, so it looks like you may intend to keep some of the factory interior.

Also, it would be interesting to see how much weight savings there is by striping it down.

My aim is full cage (mandatory in order to be able to remove airbags and install 6pt harness) and weight reduction while keeping the car relatively tidy and nice to look at.

Car weighed in at 1500kg before stripping with following mods
- full akrapovic (minus weight)
- recaro proracer rms (minus weight)
- Verus HD splitter + Rear diffuser (added weight)
- APR GTC-300 rear wing (added weight)
- HKS hipermax R coilover (minus weight)
- Endless F&R big brake package (minus weight)
- Verus brake ducting (added weight)
- Apex forged wheels (minus weight)

Heaviest items were sound deadening carpet. It had super thick foam; no wonder why our car is so quiet (hard to hear the exhaust). Airbags also heavy.
- rear panels were actually super light so we decided to put it back in to protect the cables as I load alot of gears in the boot when I drive to track.

Only panels I am keeping are what's shown in the pics
- Dash with no airbag
- Center console
- rear boot panels
- Door cards

I still have oem battery so that could be easily replaced anytime...
Once we finish we will re-weigh the car and post here.

FYI we are going with chromoly for our cage.

Thanks for the pics and sharing! I'll be interested to see how much of your dash you're able to keep! Looking forward to seeing more.

A90, and this is cool.

I'm building my E92 M3 to be a ring tool so I'm trying to cut down weight as much as possible so interested to see what the scales show for the Supra.

I'd hope even with the chromoly cage, you'd be below 3100 lbs.

Looks nice so far, I have a similar setup fully gutted caged car and it weighs around ~3000lbs with a empty car, no fuel or driver. 3300lbs for driver+fuel on paper for competitions. There is still room for more weight savings, doors and glass are heavy along with wiring no longer used, lighter body panels and lexan for front and rear, lighter aero package as well the one I have is really heavy.

I also have an e92 M3 track car/Race car with full cage.
I love the engine (supercharged with flexfuel E50)
but the chassis is so heavy, even after full stripping.

Supra is much better platform, i wish i could have Supercharged S65 on the Surpa and it would be great.

I sold my Supra few weeks ago because I couldn't get myself to turn it into a track car.

My E92 will have to suffice for now.

I enjoyed the Supra as a street car for a while to realize that it's not a great street car and it's quite boring on the street haha.

Maybe I will be back one day in a MK5. You carry on the torch bro.
